the staff were so friendly and helpful .the inn was very clean our breakfast was lovely.
Being woke up by people above us in the early hours . Being able to hear them use the bathroom facilities.
smokers at the entrance due to apparent conference in the conference hall
Value for money, polite staff, good food
Noisy vehicles leaving car park early in the morning disturbing sleep No lift to first floor rooms
Good location and comfortable room.
I thought they were understaffed. There was no one on reception when we arrived, at 5 pm, and they didn't keep up with clearing breakfast tables on Sunday morning.
This was our second visit. Staff were helpful. Room was well equipped and clean although this time a little snug.
A little far from town. Also there was some sort of party going on, the noise did not bother us but the smell of smoke from people outside the door was awful as you walked in the hotel.
The Receptionist (Millie) had one of the most engaging smiles we can remember; this made us feel special. Later, the Manager on duty went to extraordinary lengths to ensure my wife was catered for as she has demanding dietary limitations. We were made so welcome and comfortable it was a pleasure. I cannot recall an occasion where everyone went to so much trouble for us.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpfull Hotel easy to find and in an excellent position for access to the motorway network.
Rooms are pretty small Hotel is expensive versus other hotels in the area. Noisy late at night on Friday and Saturday, people running around and shouting in the corridors.
Everything was fine. no complaints.
Very friendly and helpful staff - particularly restaurant manager and chef
Bed "tired" needed replacing. We are not big people but still rolled into middle of bed
Everything except the meals.
The meals. They were too expensive especially the Wine. This caused me to seek alternative restaurants in the area.
Staff - very friendly and helpful. Bed - really comfortable. Comfort - the room was an ideal temperature.
You could hear the people in the room above walking back and forth which disturbed sleep as they were up early. I purchased breakfast and it wasn't as good as the last time I stayed.
Everything Ok, nice hotel, very friendly and helpfull staff. We asked for early breakfast to be able top start our trip to Goodwood early in the morning, and they arranged it without any hesitation...
Room was very small for the cost.
Restaurant staff were very helpful. location was very convenient
Other family members were kept awake by very noisy guests' antics for a long time in the early hours of Sunday morning. We experienced more modest problems with heavy banging around above our room, probably uncontrolled children or elephants, from about 7am Sunday morning
Lack of minibar
location, breakfast, room comfort
we were on the ground floor and we heard footsteps and a very creaky floor in the room above.
Friendliest staff of any hotel I have ever stayed!!!! Breakfast was plentiful and good quality
Bar prices on the expensive side!!
Excellent choices for a delicious breakfast and lovely comfortable bed. Could not ask for anything more.
It was a convenient location for visiting family for a family celebration
Location of my room which was right by the door leading to the bedrooms, noisy and door banging until the early hours of the morning. Also it was a disabled room which I hadn't asked for or required.
We stayed for one night on 16th August 2014 A wedding reception was in full swing when we arrived late afternoon to check in before visiting friends in Basingstoke. Upon our return we retired to our room for a good nights sleep before our 5 hour return journey next morning. Around midnight the first of the wedding guests started to leave the celebrations to go to their rooms and the shouting, singing, screaming, banging, arguing, and fighting started. It went on and on until we called reception and the police arrived around 02:45. The manager came to our room to apologise. The noise still continued until 04:00 when we finally got some sleep. We have never experienced anything like this before in any hotel. It made my wife ill. We were given a full refund but that did not compensate for our night in the asylum!!!
We arrived on a Sunday, therefore the kitchen was closed for dinner. The food ordered from behind the bar was all that we required.
I don't like interconnecting bedroom doors; however the receptionist ensured that no-one was allocated the adjoining room.
Room should of been ready for 2pm...we arrived at 4pm room was not available till4.30! Also a wedding reception was taking place..so lots of noise till midnight...kids running along corridors screaming and shouting banging doors at gone 11pm
Comforable beds and clean room. Attentive staff. Very efficient and friendly.
Other noisy guests. But very well managed by hotel staff.
Over-priced - £200 per night not including breakfast, not including internet access
