Holiday Inn Ashford CentralCanterbury Road, TN24 8QQ Ashford (Show map) Good, Score from 102 reviews“This hotel was very convenient to Eastwell Manor where we attended a wedding and very close to the motorway, the staff were friendly and very helpful. The bar was also very pleasant. It was cheaper to stay at the holiday inn than the travel lodge or premier inn”

This was a standard Holiday Inn room, the same as you would find anywhere-- which was okay since we paid more in other cities for a room that was not as nice. There was a huge Sainsbury's near the hotel. There was a coffee station in the lobby, but a cup of coffee was l1.50 (Buy the cup from the receptionist), which I thought was really chintzy. Either provide coffee to the customers free of charge, or remove the station.

Location was great for the channel tunnel. I had a nice steak. 20% Prority Club discount on food and drink was instantly available. Executive room was not good value. Breakfast starts too late at the weekend. Restaurant was fair, with some poor corner cutting (decline the offer of bread: they charge and mine was dry and I think had been frozen. Bernaise sauce for steak was split and nasty). Staff were friendly but ineffectual. Food and drink expensive for the standard on offer.

It was very relaxing experience after a long jjourney. The staff were very welcoming with the just the right touch of customer care. Food in resto was above expectations - really mean that - it was well prepared and presented. Only point was that the rooms was single glazed and the heating was just coping. Would happily stay again and recommend to a friend, Just the point above about single glazing.

very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the room for the price and the good location. Reception welcoming and good pub nearby. Significantly better value than the central Premier Inn Ashford. only v minor problem-if the receptionist could possibly speak a little more slowly she would be easier to understand.

I think the room was badly described - Executive double implies a certain level of space and comfort. Yes, there were bath robes etc but the room was small, the bathroom was not thoroughly clean - a huge amount of limescale on bathroom fittings which could be eliminated with generic products. Lack of staff in the bar. Average breakfast - with a small number of guests, why not cook to order? It would save wastage and provide a better breakfast instead of the dried up offerings in place. And could you ask your younger members of staff to start with a pleasant greeting as opposed to an officious demand for our room number ( a young man at breakfast). Overall, not much better than a Travel Lodge but more expensive. We won't use you again sadly.

good location, good price. despite having a huge hd television there is no hairdryer which is more important for a short stay when people prefer to have minimum luggage.

Easy and comfortable(ish). Relaxing breakfast, good location, internet there if you need it (we did). Children (twins of 4) can stay with us for no extra cost - normally get ripped off with full prices charged for children. Servicing of room was not brilliant. We stayed 5 nights - first morning's service dirty glass left and clothes just thrown on bed after it was made. Policy is to change towels and linen after 3 nights - ours were changed after the 4th night, which meant we had clean linen for only 1 night after that - didn't make sense!

The hotel is very easy to find, and very convenient as a staging post for anyone crossing the Channel into England late afternoon/evening and not wanting to drive further that day. Ample parking facilities. The integration of older buildings into the hotel construction gives a fairly pleasant 'traditional' feeling to what is essentially a late 20th century construction; certainly better than many modern-built hotel designs. The 'gardens' around the hotel are pleasant, and add to the atmosphere. The staff were very helpful and efficient, but quite obviously trained to emphasise the 'service' they are providing; this 'American-style' may be what some guests expect and like, but I find it excessive and bordering on the annoying. This behaviour lacks authenticity; this is not a 'real welcome', but an artificial facade - in some cases a theatrical role being played without conviction. The food was just about acceptable by British standards, which makes it poor by some international standards. Restaurant is rather bleak, depiste the 'old-world' timbering.
