The hotel was clean and practical and within easy walking distance to the shops and beach. The breakfast could have been better - considering what we paid. Also think £170 for a Holiday Inn is a stupidly high amount for what we actually got.

Only that it was possible to drop my lugage on arrival as room check in is after 3pm. Far too expensive for a basic hotel. The premier inn is half the price ,centrally located and more pleasant.could have stayed in 5star hotel for the price I paid..real old hat of a place-would classify holiday inn 2 or 3 star at best.i think I was lured by the side sea view but you would need the neck of a giraffe to see anything other than the flats adjacent.also far out from town centre.

Appalling. Dreadful. On arrival and after going for a quick walk, found Manager and workman in room: the shower was leaking badly (Manager admitted the room should never have been let out. We needed to get washed and changed to go out to Glyndebourne; the Manager showed us to a room the corridor length away where my wife had to decant all her stuff to have a shower. They then allegedly repaired the shower: it leaked all over the bathroom floor and hallway when we used it the next morning. For £265 I expect a decent bed, a tv that works, bathroom accoutrements, a mini-bar, a bathrobe and a room safe. None of these were available. On complaing the next morning, the Manager docked a mere £50 basically saying he could let the room at that price many times over and could not give a hoot about our views on its value. I will never stay at a Holiday Inn again

I was made to feel welcome as soon as I walked through the door. The staff were really helpful and went out of their way to ensure our stay was a pleasurable experience. I had understood that there was a bar at the Holiday Inn and arranged to meet a group of friends there. Unfortunately the bar was closed on the day we visited.

Prime seafront location near (defunct) West Pier. A good half a mile away from the old town centre but with many bars, restaurants, and shops nearby. Staff were professional, friendly, and welcoming. We were offered a free upgrade to an "executive" room on the 4th floor. Although it was clean and everything worked it's beginning to show its age. Bathroom fittings functional but showing signs of wear and repeated repair (rather than replacement). Huge comfortable bed but little else to justify the "executive" tag. Sticky, squeaky wardrobe doors, and old- style crt tv, to name but two. Had this just been a "standard" room we'd have been very happy, but using a word like "executive" raised expectations which weren't quite fulfilled.

Parking was good and value for money when compared with Nearby ncp. That apart we thought the hotel generally had a rundown and seen better days feel and look about it. As we commented above the whole hotel has seen better days. The lobby area looks scruffy with revolving doors out of action and looking like they have been for some time. When we arrived the only door into the hotel remained open allowing a howling gale to make checking in a thoroughly uncomfortable experience. We accepted an offer to upgrade our room and discovered possibly the oldest tv taking up a corner of it. Seriously have you never heard of flat screen tv'S. We are in 2012 after all. We met our cousins in the bar and couldn't even order a Baileys... New Year and no Baileys in a 4star hotel and then no Worcester Sauce for a Bloody Mary..... Come on Hospitality Inn ....Get Real. All in all thoroughly unacceptable.

Great location - well placed for seafront and shops. Good value car parking - allowed to park for over 24 hours for one rate. Staff friendly and helpful. Upgraded to side sea view room - the view was partially blocked by scaffolding. Also room very cold - heating not very effective and noisy to keep on at night. Shower too low down on wall to stand under.

The friendliness of all staff. Rooms were also clean. Didn't sample food, so can't comment on this. Unfortunately the Travelodge and Premier Inn were fully booked on this occassion. I normally book one of these - which is cheaper (would of got 2 nights for what it cost to stay for 1 night at Holiday Inn). The Premier Inn is definately better value for money and more comfortable!

The room was better than we expected from pictures and reviews we had seen. It had everything we needed and was clean. Yes the decor is old and not high quality. We may have been upgraded and the complementary magazine, wifi and water did make our stay more enjoyable. We had no problems with noise. Staff very helpful.

Had an old - fashioned charm which we have read about re holiday breaks for Londoners and others. Despite our sunny clime here in Austrtalia it was rather lovely to sample a very different beach break for us colonials! Rewgards to all, Cath and Alex Peebles

The Holiday Inn Brighton Seafront was very convenient - a group of six friends celebrating a special birthday spent a very enjoyable night there. Handy for shops, restaurants, seafront etc. Very comfortable, clean rooms.

Everything in the room was dated and worn, the lampshade actually had holes in them, out of shape and the bathroom vent did not work, the bath tap was dripping all the time. The bathroom was held together with white sealant by the gallon and a lot of it with thumbprints and begiining to moss. We came in and asked about parking, we were askeed if we were staying and then were given a token for the car park. At no time did she say that there was an £18 charge for overnight parking. In the morning an invoice was put thru the door fwith thic charge. We were amazed, thinking parking was free if staying. I took this up with reception , who said that it was written down on a card when I signed in!!!!! Sorry I do not sit theere reading the fine print afterr a 4hr drive from norwich.

Easy to locate the hotel and the most helpful reception member of staff. Ease of parking and the proximity to the hotel.Clean and excellent room with a lovely sea view. Spotless and clean bathroom with a huge bathtub for two.Nice welcome breakfast and smiling staff. The ease with which I was able to exit from the car park. A token or ticket tom leave would make me more comfortable.Fresh fruits at breakfast looked faded and not appealing, it would have been better to have individual fruits.

Upon arrival reception staff asked if this was a special occasion. This made me feel very welcome - as we are two gay men booking into a double room. The 40 minute wait for a bar snack. The noise from a hen party along the corridor.

My husband and I enjoyed a very pleasant day and night in an executive room overlooking seafront. The staff were courteous and helpful and the evening meal was excellent and very good value for money. I felt the standard of the executive room was not up to the standard one would expect regarding cleanliness of the bathroom. The duvet for the king size bed was hardly sufficient to cover the bed. There was a long black hair in the bath and cracked bath and the grouting around the tiles was black. The TV was poor quality and for the price additinal price one pays for executive suite I would expect better. However, overall it was very pleasant.

location good, staff very helpful despite being very busy with wedding party, room quiet and clean booking an executive room it was stated we would get juice, complimentary newspaper and water in room-none of these were evident; also looking at rate in hotel itself we found we could have got it cheaper by contacting hotel directly
