Good value for money, the restaurant is nice with a good breakfast first thing in the morning. It is in a complex with other restaurants which is handy if you have children.

We arrived at 9.20pm and the choice of food options was extremely limited on the site (not just at the Holiday Inn)

All of the staff, withouth exception, were extremely friendly and helpful. The only meal we had at the hotel was breakfast, but this was excellent with as much choice as you could ask for. Hot and cold drinks were available all day from the lounge. On booking we were not told that the hotel was in a service area for the A55. This being a dual carriageway it was necessary to travel along the road to the next exit to turn around for the other direction.

The location was ideal for visiting the welsh coast &countryside but also just a few miles from the city of Chester. Although it's only just off the busy main rd the bedrooms were not at all noisy. The hotel is perfect for a budget break. Nothing really. It's not somewhere I'd stay for a romantic break but fine for a short break on a budget.

The rooms were well-equipped, the breakfasts were really good, and the restaurant was mostly good - but see below. We were initially worried that there might be a lot of road noise, as our room faced the a55, but the sound insulation was effective. The access from the a55 if travelling East was difficult. Restaurant meals were generally good, but the desserts were definitley hit-and- miss. One night my wife ordered the brownie - large rectangle of soft pudding was served. I ordered the same on the following night - and got a pile of brownie crusts. On the third night I ordered the crumble. Crumble was good, but was served with about 2 teaspoons-full of custard. Is the chef only interested in the main courses?

Staff were friendly and accommodating, letting us book in early as a room was ready. Rooms were comfortable, clean and spacious. The air con was broken. A fan was in the room as a result but whereas aircon cools the fan pushes the same air around. Not a major issue however.

Stayed here for second time. Both times we found the hotel very clean, comfortable and is situated perfectly for visiting our family in Ewloe. There is usually a wedding on in hotel and noise can be a slight problem but only untill 12.30.

First view was that it was on a busy main road and as we had booked in for a wedding. we thought is it suitable? The answer to our question was answered as soon as we entered the hotel, well furnished with modern furnishings, welcoming staff, good sized clean and comfortable room and most of all it was a perfect place to hold a civil wedding. The ceremony was held in an ideal room just off the bar area, the following reception could not be faulted with an excellent meal provided with equally excellent service. The evening meal was also very good with plenty of food available with both standard and vegetarian options. The price of drinks was less than I expected so I probably bought more than I would have done if the prices were higher and so not such good value.

Location was ideal for our purpose of visiting relatives and shopping as well as a trip to Liverpool which was a wonderful day and night out. The hotel staff were pleasant the rooms were of a good size clean with good facilities. Would stay here again and recommend to friends. Unusual for hotel to have smoking rooms, but was appreciated by my wife.
