Absolutely nothing The hotel was a disgrace. The Hotel had a power cut when we arrived and the standby generator failed. We could not occupy room until 5.30 as check in systems failed and room doorsare electronic and could not be opened. Toilets had no hand drying facilities.during power cut.Bar excessively expensive. Rooms booked at same rates were different in size and facilities. One had no soap, no safe, no chiller. Tv and movies failed in one room. Movies require credit card details. We were not told about this when checking in and when discovered guests were in pj's and too late to go to the reception to load credit card. Internet access / movies costs £28 per 24 hours or £16 for internet alone. All in all a thoroughly dissapointing experience and would never, never stay there again.

Nothing to add here I did not like the fact that the cleaner entered our room twice whilst we were still in bed, yes we maybe should have used the do not disturb card but we were only staying one night and were to vacate by 12pm the following day surely the hotel staff knew that our room would be empty to be cleaned at that point, I found that we could not relax incase the cleaner entered a third time so we packed up and checked out. I think this should be noted for future use

Excellent hotel for less than a stay at a Travelodge - (I know because I moved out of a Travelodge to move here - £17 cheaper!) Great location for zoo (unfortunately pandas fully booked so will come back another time) Jacuzzi / sauna / pool good - unfortunately too many kids Breakfast could have been a little cheaper or included in my deal

Great view from window, comfortable room Very inconvenient if you don't have a car or don't arrive by Taxi. You have to lug your luggage up a hill then you go up steps to a door which has a sign which says reception when you enter there is no reception desk only more stairs which leads to a long hallway followed by more stairs and finally a reception desk. The reception people are well trained rto try to get more money out of you by asking if you want Breakfast only 10 pounds (about $16) only if you say yes now. If you say yes in the morning it will be 14 pounds (well over $20). Also do you want to amke a dinner reservation for tonight). The hotel is not close to many restaurants so you may be tempted to say yes but suggest you take bus to West End where there are many less expensive and better placess to eat Also they charge 3.25 lbs (about $5) for a cup of black coffee in the morning. The room was nice though but avoid the services even to use the internet is 5 pounds per hour and you have to pay for at least an hour. I'm sorry but I felt ripped off by these people..

So close to the city with the bus stop outside the door. The website advertised a cocktail bar, this sold the hotel for me as both me and my girlfriend like a few cockails but when we went to the bar we were rudely told by the barman that the dont do cocktails. I thought then that i read it wrong but just after checking ans sure enough, the first thing it says is cocktail lounge. Very dissappointed

The hotel was immaculate, the staff could not have been more helpful, they catered for every need of our group of 13! The best hotel I have ever stayed at, cannot honestly fault it, if going to Edinburgh again I wouldn't waste my time even looking at other hotels!

Swimming pool, design, atmosphere, helpfulness of staff, room I booked a room 'double or twin bed' and was allocated a twin bed room. I asked for this to be changed to a double and was told it could not be done unless a smoking room was acceptable. I had understood the term to be one or the other and not just what could be allocated on arrival.

Upon attending the holiday Inn was easy to find. Upon entering our allocated room this had a strong smell of cigarette smoke. Upon attending the front desk and informing them they were very appologetic and we were offered another room, which the female on the front desk appologised about because it was on the next floor up however this was right next to the lift. (The original room was 2nd floor and furthest away from the lift. The staff were very friendly and always smiling. So a very good experience and because of the service we received we will definetly be returning to the Holiday Inn Edinburgh.

The hotel is nice & smart & we got a friendly reception from the staff. The rooms are clean & tidy with plenty of space. Nice comy bed & lots of hot water in the power shower. Out of town but the bus link is really good & of course its great for the zoo. The room we had was a linked room so there was some noise from the people through the adjoining door. We'll be sure to ask not to stay in this type of room if we stay there again. The room rate was good but it would have been nice to have a light breakfast included. The price to buy it seperately was too high. The pool is far too small for the size of the hotel & it was rather tired. It was also full of kids splashing about. Not at all relaxing if that is what you are after.

Great location for edinburgh zoo, and the chinese resteraunt was fantastic, no cardboard food there. A taxi into edinburgh central was a little over £10 which made me think staying more in town would have been better.
