The service was excellent at all times. The room provided good value for money. Facilities were more than adequate. Breakfast provided good range and adequate quality. The pillows were thin and low quality. The room was adequate for our needs but needs modernisation.

None of our stay was enjoyable I have already filled a complaint form on the evening of our return, The receptionist said they did not have the rooms available that I booked. I was asked if we would take one smoking and one none smoking.!!!!!!! I thought there was a smoking ban. The rooms were discusting, chipped tiles, blood on shower curtains. Hair all around the bath. Pubic hair in the bed. The used towel was left to be reused on the second day. I and my father both suffered severe itching from day one after sleeping in the beds. We usually stay at the Holiday Inn express in Castleford several times a year. This time it was fully booked. We shall not be using Holiday Inn or sister Hotels in the future. Relaxation in the room, The TV has 7 stations, none with information. The TV's are antiquated. On a rating out of 1-10 I would give it a poor 2.

Good location Good room service The lady receptionist was excellent in dealing with my complaint and also dealing with the incompetent duty manager! Breakfast service was extremely disorganised. Bread was mouldy No juice despite asking staff to fill it up. Everyone seemed to be running around like a headless chicken and it wasn't even very busy. When I complained that I didn't actually have any breakfast (very put off by mouldy bread!) I asked not to pay for breakfast and the manager was only going to take the price of a drink off my bill! Eventually after an arguament I did get the breakfast knocked off my bill, but I shouldn't have had to argue. Terrible service from the duty manager.

That they didnt have enough rooms and they had to send one of our party to another hotel. That they didnt notify us of the room issue until we arrived, and were unable to authorise a discount. That they tried to overcharge us.

The food was very poor quality in the restaurant. We felt cheated at beingcharged10.00 each for a starter from a buffet selection thst was v limited. Also drinks were very expensive. This is a value hotel with 5 star prices.

Good reliable offering from Holiday Inn, very brief overnight stop so not much comment on facilities other than the room, handy location on the outskirts of town near the motorway Suggested price of breakfast: went to Sainsbury's about 3 minutes drive away west on the A63 instead.

Staff were very friendly and located ideally for my work trip. Room was quite dark, TV was ancient and lacked channel options. The Wi-Fi, whilst free, had terrible connectivity and was as fast as dial up.

The food is always good. The place is falling apart and very poorly maintained. Definitely not worth the price. I've only used it a couple of times to meet a colleague. I will not stay there again.

Hotel had character, friendly staff on arrival, room comfy.shower superb.evening buffet very good.bar prices a little ott. Morning reception staff very helpful. Disabled friendly, thats good.would use holiday inns again.thankyou Breakfast staff disinterested.first time there,we where given no indication as to procedures.no indication hot food self service.no one checking hot food levels, had to ask then wait for fried eggs.danish pastries not cooked right, frozen product I used as a professional chef, how can they get it wrong, they where all doughy in the centre. But food selection good, but premier inns have the advantage for breakfast, over service, staff friendlyness, courtesy, helpfulness, not so much standing chatting to each other. But I would use the facility again.

Location I regret asking for the smoking rooms and I suspect that's why they were not to the standard I would expect for the price. A couple of the lights didn't work and it wasn't as clean as I would hope.

Facilities/staff I booked a room, and when I got there, only a smoking room was available. I am a non-smoker and I very much hate the smell. The room was very smokey and by the end of the weekend, all my clothes were smokey.
