Set in an elegant Victorian building, the Best Western Russell Hotel is just 1 mile from Maidstone town centre.
Score from 80 reviews Good
Just off junction 2A of the M26 motorway and only 4 miles (6.5 km) from junction 4 of the M20, the hotel offers great value, with free parking and spacious, modern en suite rooms.
Score from 124 reviews Good
Village Urban Resort Maidstone is just 100 metres from the River Medway. It is also just 5 minutes' drive from Maidstone's centre, with direct access to the M20 motorway.
Score from 350 reviews Very good
The modern Holiday Inn Rochester-Chatham hotel has fully air-conditioned bedrooms, a leisure club (with indoor swimming pool) and 24-hour room service. Children stay and eat for free!
Score from 259 reviews Good
Spacious accomodation (upgraded to executive room), comfortable and excellent value for money. Good location, friendly staff. Quiet given the proximity of the motorway.
Toilet cistern very noisy. no control over room temperature (centrally set by hotel).
Location, facilities, comfort.
Price of accommodation, food & drink.
Service was great even though I checked in late.
Noisy in hallways a little
rooms clean bed comfy shower lovely breakfast plentiful
DRINKS WERE VERY EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!!! we attended a wedding and there were 6 adults. for 1 round of drinks consisting of 3 beers and 3 spirits it cost £26 NEVER have I paid so much anywere. Also on arrival I was told we had 3 rooms 2 double 1 twin.i told the receptionist I had book 3 doubles she insisted I hadn't. she told me there was no way we could have it changed. HOWEVER when she was checking names she had wrong details totally despite me having a printout of what I had booked. and I had booked 3 doubles.
Close to motorway junction but non road noise. Close to Wrotham village with nice pubs and country feel. Gave my umma disabled room which helped a lot.
Free wifi log on never worked .. Had to keep going to reception for vouchers. Menu was exactly the sane as Holiday Inn Aylesbury so no escape from a very limited food menu. Bar understaffed and half the beers were off due to chiller issues. Breakfast room had dilapidated seats that you thought you would fall through. Just raw melon as fruit, no muesli, the pancake machine was broken for the children staying there. Often full compliment of food was not available after 9:00 even though breakfast went through till 10:00 Seems to be full of Europeans either going to or coming from tunnel. So very transient customer base and so longer term stays not advised as staff / hotel not geared up for that. Basics like tea / milk not replaced each day in the room No iron
The room had several little nice touches ie bottled water in room provided daily , shampoo sewing kits all the things to make the stay that more relaxing. Food was very good with lots of choice.Nice and clean rooms and facilities all round a lovely relaxing stay for us with staff also First Class
THere aws nothing we disliked
We were only a 50 min drive from Dover, and close to the motorway. Comfy hotel and room, although we were only there for 8 hours before getting the ferry, so there was no opportunity to use the facilities. Generous breakfast and plenty of choice.
The postcode didn't appear to be Sat Nav friendly.
The buffet was superb. The staff are very friendly. The rooms are large and comfortable.Lovely breakfast
I have stayed in executive rooms before and this one wasn't by far the best
Comfortable bedroom Swimming pool
The music in the entrance porch. The price of breakfast. I didn't like the restaurant. Tried it one night, ordered burgers but they'd run out of burgers so ordered something else which took about half an hour to come. We complained and the lady in charge of the restaurant was very apologetic and reduced our bill. When you come into the hotel the décor implies a certain standard, oak furniture, landscape paintings on the wall but this is not to be found in the restaurant which is more the standard of something at a motorway service station.
Proximity to Brands Hatch, local restaurants & petrol stations & shops
Ill-fitting toilet seat in bathroom Poor lighting in corner of room Bunched-up towels on corridor at open panel door (perhaps soaking up a leak?) close to our room No lifts to rooms so access to rooms with cases very difficult.
The hotel is well situated close to a motorway junction. It is large and comfortable. Our room was spacious and the bed very comfy. There is a pool and fitness area. Both the breakfasts and bar snacks were very acceptable.
The seem to be a lot of stairs, but no lifts. Struggling up and down with cases was no fun. Oddly they seek to charge for WiFi whereas most places provide it free.
Easy access to motorway, gym and swimmingpool, friendly staff, size of the single beds.
Bathroom wasnt clean, bed was very hard an uncomfortable, breakfast service was very slow even thou not busy
Comfortable room, close to brands hatch which we were visiting for the weekend, food in the restaurant was excellent quality. We thought it was a bit expensive but we did only have the choice of executive room due to the lateness of us booking.
Not enough coffee, sugar and milk in room. Two of us staying, and only 3 small milks which isn't really enough for one cup each, and we would prefer coffee to drinks out of the mini bar
Comfortable room felt homely and was very quiet. The hotel is quietly situated just off the M26 at junction 6. Easy to access M25 westbound. The staff (from the Bexley hotel) were as helpful as they could be especially considering the receptionist and dining room staff were standing in for the regular team on the night we stayed and were not so familiar with their surroundings. Would stay there again if in area on holiday.
Big room; two comfortable king size beds with choice of pillow types; very clean; excellent facilities - tea, coffee, hairdryer, TV, toiletries. So good to have plug points near the dressing table for using hair straighteners/tongs etc. So many hotels seem to miss this important point! Good clean restaurant with good choice of breakfast foods and attentive staff. All in all a very enjoyable stay and excellent value for money.
The size and quality of the room, the hotel facilities and reception/bar area were excellent and I have had a meal from the restaurant before and so I know the food is also excellent.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating, good facilities.
Drinks and food was a bit expensive
I especially liked the outside terrace.
Availability restaurant Swimming pool
Old and worn out floor Could bevrefreshed Bar not available due to wedding party
The pool facilities were nice and warm
we could have done with more light in our room
Location, good Chinese 5 mins walk up the road. Air con worked well. breakfast is ok.
There seems to be way to many fire doors at this hotel, they are all in a state of reasonable neglect which means the they open and close with a bang over night, ensuring a sleepless night if your room is situated near one. I gave up and moved at 3am, which was not easy as House keeping had blocked off half the rooms as unavailable, ensuring all guests were coralled into a small convenient area for cleaning...... had i been given the room i originally requested of course, there would have been no problem. about 18 months ago this place got a lot better, probably a new manager, but is slipping backwards again. Marriot on the other side of Maidstone is much better choice once again.
The staff were superb! The cleaners are to be commended. We stayed 3 nights and the room (as well as the hotel generally ) was spotless. All the staff we dealt with, gym, reception, bar, food etc were genuinely lovely.
Nothing really, could not fault.
Pool and could open windows
