Just 300 metres from the Gateshead Millennium Bridge and the Baltic Art Centre, this modern hotel has a stylish on-site restaurant, bar, gym, and free Wi-Fi throughout.
Score from 1181 reviews Very good
Good wifi signal, easy check in.
Remote location made worse by diversions, it took up to 30 minutes to get into town. Nobody bothered to send a communication about the diversions, I would not have stayed at the hotel otherwise.
Bedroom is generally good, clean and comfortable
Bar service slow and unprofessional Food quality is poor
A friendly welcome, comfort and cleanliness
The roadworks at the Seaton Burn Island. A pictorial handout of the diversion would have been better than a written one.
Staff were lovely
Im originally from newcastle and booked this hotel specifically because it stated that it was at Godforth Park and that's right next to where I needed to be. I didnt think I would need to look up directions as Gosforth is quite a small place . Anyhoo - no one explained that the major roadworks would cause a problem ( they did). On my first night it took me almost 2 hours to get to the hotel from Longbenton due to horrific diversion signs ! The hotel is not gosforth park ...it's almost Morpeth - and thats a big difference ! Very let down by the location . I had been sent flowers by my friends and a welcome home card .. These were missing from my room and the staff refused to take any ownership ! They were found the next day in someone else's room and given to me ... Bit of an anticlimax !
Very helpful staff. Clean and comfortable. .
Rather confusing getting in and out of location due to roadworks. Would recommend better signage leading to its location, as it is not in Gosforth.

noisy fan in bathroom....no option to turn off
Staff very obliging, swimming pool great. Breakfast good. Room modern, clean and spacious.
Shower temperature unpredictable water became very hot suddenly then return to setting. No bathmat dangerous to get out of bath. Heating so loud impossible to have on. Maintenance work at 08.00am hammering and drilling.
We found the friendliness and courtesy of the staff excellent. Nothing seemed too much trouble and all done with a smile.
price in restaurant was a bit too expensive for us
The room was amazing for the pice we paid would go back again
Nothing everything was good
Car parking at a premium ( there was a wedding reception that very evening)
Drinks to expensive Pool not open
Room size - large area of bedroom.
Bathroom had mould marks in sealant around bath and in tiles also overflow hole in sink was filthy - very black with dirt. Main reason for booking was swimming pool which we were looking forward to. Swimming pool was not available. When I mentioned this at check-out I was told if we had mentioned this when we arrived we could have changed to another hotel. Lame excuse when we checked-in we were not told therefore not able until we changed into our costumes later in the evening when we found out at the entrance to the pool - by this time we had unpacked settled on the room etc. also on check-in the surly receptionist did not give us the code for the car park barrier and we had to drive back to reception and get this when we found we couldn't exit. Furthermore we asked about buses into the city and was not not really possible as bus stop and service was inconvenient - however she could arrange a taxi!! Next day we saw a different reception (much more helpful) who instantly gave us a sheet with all the bus information on. We found the bus stop 1 minute away and took the bus (every 15 minutes) and the journey took approx 20 minutes. Would also like to question why the Holiday Inn chaged the location of this hotel from Seaton Burn to Gosforth Park? Can someone explain.
The hotel needs desperate updating
Size of the room Very good breakfast Lovely staff
Your duvet was not as good as the other Holiday Inn in St James Boulevard! Not sure how Housekeeping will clean behind the mixer taps - too close to the wall. For now it is okay but in time there will be a build up of water (bacteria/germs) you can not access it (I think). The taps are in the wrong position!
Restaurant Pool/sauna/steam room large bedroom
The lobby area ,restaurant and bar area have obviously had a revamp which made a great first impression
The standard of the lobby did not reflect the bedroom we had been given, the pictures show must be of the re furbished bedrooms, which were far more up to date than ours
every thing was ok
eccept the black sheep bitter, there was no t.l.c. involved at all
Pool and sauna; food available late; good sized room
Noise from building works on the A! nearby.
Clean & tidy with lots of extras
I paid for 2 breakfasts although I was travelling alone with my child when the children's breakfast was supposed to be free!?
No doubt the prices were raised for the Great North Run weekend.
The location, room and facilities were excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was first rate.
Welcome and reception staff excellent. Room clean, comfy and bigger than expected. Bar and restaurant staff friendly and very happy to help. Hotel provided transport and tailored food for GNR guests.
Gym was out dated.
Friendly and helpful staff and very good food in the restaurant.
Corridors and room shabby. Bed not comfortable, pillows worse.
Gym pool wi fi .. Armchair and table in room Position near motorway. Staff cheerful and helpful. Room service also good. Rooms were cleaned.
Picked a busy Saturday with weddings and hen do's Bar packed and restaurant also So used room service. Unfortunate timing. No fridge in room. Room was on the Ground floor to front by car park so people walked right by my window .....till very late.
