staff, room, location all fine
I think breakfast is overpriced.
Excellent breakfast. All items were hot, tasty and of good quality. Beds were comfortable. Staff were welcoming and attentive.
Bathroom shower was very difficult to fathom out or maybe there was a fault with the equipment. I didn,t really bother to report it !
Was looking for a comfortable bed and a good breakfast and HI Newport provided both.
friendly staff at reception and thruout
no heat in the room but reception put it on when requested - heating should be readily available especially in november.
Only a one night stay and all was fine
Staff and food very good
Room very hot a vending machine would have been nice
Location off mway good staff very good looked at other reviews before booking some poor no issues comfortable nights stay room nice n warm on arrival reception nice n warm on arrival staff polite friendly stay again yes!!
Staff polite and helpful.
Hotel and room a bit dated now.
Size of rooms convenient for Celtic manor close to m4 Bar area, staff helpful and friendly Warm tidy loads of towels
Noisy ac in room broken lid on kettle doors to wardrobe badly fitted as struggles to open the doors... too early for housekeeping, before 9am
Rooms were clean and bathroom very good
Communal areas very dated . Painted stone chimney in the restaurant.
Staff helped me
Location (easy in and out) Clean Staff Price
Friendly staff. Close to where I needed to be.
Breakfast was sadly the worst I've had in a hotel for a long time. It was better the second day, but still mediocre. Car park was very basic and paths are poorly maintained. Room was in poor condition and the doors/walls were paper thin. I've stayed in much smarter places for less!
The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and the room was well equipped. Great shower.
The tv lost signal near the end of a movie and didn't come back. The Internet crashed numerous times. The breakfast service was poor with food not being replenished for more than 10 minutes after running out leaving diners waiting around to finish dishing up their places or having to return to get the missing items. The orange juice jug was never refilled at all and people were asking for coffee which took ages to be refilled. Was definitely not worth the £11 charge for it. The Sunday night reception manager appeared very indifferent, almost to the point of rudeness.
In need of an update in décor, but didn't affect my stay
Location to family, wifi
1St room toilet didn't flush, moved to 2nd room.Throughout the hotel, carpets soiled as if flooding issue happened. Room smelled of sewage. Old dressers were pulled out of a room left in hallway for 2 days. Windows had to remain open. Hotwater pot, dirty and even after cleaned gave water foul taste. Air conditioner didn't work. Then 1 cup tea, 1 cup coffee and 1 piece of toast £7.90 ($12.85) !! Outside deck filled with cig butts, spiderwebs with bugs, not cleaned entire 3 day stay. Not Holiday Inn standards at all. $322 or £190.00 not well spent.
Friendly staff Good quality WiFi Price was reasonable
Hotel was not modern like other Holiday Inn locations around UK. Breakfast was not included in room price. Booked Twin Room and checked into Double Room.
Our first room was unsuitable and they upgraded us straight away with no issues. The room was decorated to a high standard, was very clean and comfortable
The room service was a bit poor-there was an extra charge for them to deliver it to our room. Also had issues accessing movie channels; spoke to two different people on reception but neither fixed it
Staff and Hotel
Bed - Room 276 Very Bad Restaurant - Poor Value for money - Portions so tiny !!!!
We stayed at the hotel for friends wedding, unfortunately it was raining this weekend but we wasn't quite prepared for what we turned up to, the hotel was scattered with buckets catching water throught the restaurant, corridors and lobby, the floors were wet in the halls and the hotel was smelling damp. If it wasn't for the fact that we had a wedding then we would have moved hotel. I'm sure that if the hotel didn't have these problems then it would be fine but to rent rooms when they know that there are major maintainance works to be is carried out unacceptable
The Staff where Excellent. All the Staff we dealt with went out of there way to help.
Was a short stay but staff very helpful and friendly
It was all good
Comfy beds and pillows
Wifi only half hour free
