Everything was straightforward. The room was fine and what I expected. The staff were particularly helpful - eg Jade on reception was friendly and interested in our opinion. The wooded setting is very nice. We didn't appreciate the knocking on the door at 9.45am in the morning after a very late night the evening before, so remember to leave a note on the door or tell them.

I feel that this holiday Inn is in need a money being spent on it , it feels and looks outdated .We always try to stay at the holiday inns, this one i felt, looked and felt like a travel lodge.staff were very good but were let down by the decor and shabbiness of the building.Carpets were old looking in the hallways and stained.

Walking distance to the Celtic Manor (wedding attended). Very close off the motorway. Value for money. Bar open late. The bar lacked character and atmosphere.

Wine "by the glass" was shockingly poor. Food generally was lovely, room was also lovely. Service at breakfast on the Friday morning was dreadful. Lady was acting as if the tea wss rationed, also she was constantly moaning to myself and another member of staff about how overworked she was and how bad the hotel was. Complete contrast to the Saturday morning.

The bed was comfortable & the tv worked Cost for what you get makes this hotel prohibitive, you get no more for your money than you get from Premier Inn.

We enjoyed our one night stay, very comfortable and good sized room, excellent breakfast, staff very helpful and pleasant. Close to many attractions of South Wales with not too far to travel to the principality of Cardiff and its big city attractions as well as being close to lots of the heritage sights of South Wales. East to find as quite close to the m4 but set in its own gardens. Small pool was lovely although lack of individual changing rooms a bit of a put off - but great for an early morning dip. Very relaxing comfortable and welcoming hotel. Would stay there again - good business facilities too with wi fi keyboard for tv in rooms as well.

I liked that it wasnt far from centre. What I didnt like was staff was quite rude . the keys did not work to room and had to go a few times to get it sorted, they didnt do what they were supposed to and I found they are very interferring. I did not even stay the full night as I felt uncomfortable there.

great location, nice and clean room, good price I was not informed while checking out about the ticket that was needed to exit the carpark therefore I had to return to the reception maybe because the lady was too busy eating her breakfast.

The staff were extremely helpful; and changed my room for me when I requested a bath rather than shower only. The room was clean and comfortable and reasonably proportioned. Although breakfast was quite expensive at 13.95 I was informed by reception that purchasing tokens the night before significantly reduced the cost; as did booking the bed and breakfast option rather than room only. Similarly internet access was pricey at £5 an hour, but reduced significantly if the 24 hour for £8 option was chosen. The location is really only suitable for car users.

We stayed for one night and the staff were friendly and the room spotlessly clean. Having Sky Sports on the tv was an unexpected bonus. There was no noise, despite being at the front of the hotel and near a very busy road. The location was great - just off the moterway and would be ideal for anyone looking to play golf at Celtic Manor. It was only a £7 taxi ride to Newport train station and cost only £3 for a return ticket to Cardiff. Overall a very enjoyable experience (just a pity we lost in the Heineken Cup final!)
