We stayed at this hotel for a wedding and I cannot fault a thing. Even the manager was on hand and got stuck in to help the staff. The service was great, the food was great and the whole stay was great from start to finish. Very very pleased we will be back again.

    The room.

The lack of welcome from the staff. Poor signage to areas of the hotel.e.g. Gym. Cigarette buts all over front steps. Wifi worked, but restricted what you could access.

I liked the fact that the room had two double beds this was really great given we have a young baby.

The room wasn't well ventilated it became a bit too hot during the night, but as we were only staying one night this wasn't too problematic.

The staff were very professional. the room already had a fan running in it when we arrived and was very much needed in the heat.

though we were welcomed and the staff were very professional it was all a bit starchy and formal- not really relaxing

Hotel was well appointed and very Victorian - we got what we expected. Dinner was excellent although we waited a very long time in a semi-empty dining room.

That the entrance was old and not tatty. I booked a modern room and it was spacious, and quiet.

Need better signage when you get out of the lift the first time. It wasnt clear where my room was.

This is the best hotel in Sheffield. Beautiful rooms (and smoking rooms available) TWO double beds. I had the best nights sleep in ages ! Not your normal Holiday Inn as this has character and is a Grade II Listed building and it has the ambience of splendorous days gone by. The staff are lovely, friendly and courteous. A most pleasurable experience from checking-in to leaving. We will be back :-) Thank You

    We had to leave .....

I do not like crumples in the bed so I would have liked the sheets to have been taught.

The receptionist was very polite and helpful, she explained all about a function that was taking place and apologised for any noise we might hear. The hotel was beautiful with a Downton abbey feel of grandeur.

Very clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Only short taxi trip to Arena. Excellent breakfast in lovely restaurant. Great value for money. Would recommend to anyone and would be happy to stay again whenever in Sheffield.

Not the best looking building from outside but obviously nothing can be done due to age of property

Large room with two double beds. Large bathroom with shower cubicle and two sinks

The key card failed to work on three occasions. Nowhere to hang towels in bathroom after use so consequently they were replaced when they did not need to be. No soapdish in bathroom so soap had to be perched on edge of sink. Windows all need repairing and re-painting. Windows in dining room need treating to remove all of the flies and insects that were flying and crawling about when we had breakfast. Not a great choice at breakfast for vegetarians.
