The gym and sauna were equipped with what i felt was adequate. The bed was comfortable and breakfast choice was good.

Some things were a little scruffy. For example the robes my partner and I got had holes in. You have to pay for parking which was a bit of a suprise.

The archutecture of the hotel. The staff was extremely freindly and helpful. The room was delightful. The location was wonderful for stepping out into town.

Wish I could have had more coffee, sugar and creamer for the evening and morning. Was surprised to find that I had to pay for WiFi.

The hotel itself is very impressive with it's original features. It was a very cold weekend when we stayed but the hotel was and bedrooms were warm and cosy. Could have fallen asleep in the Chesterfield chairs in the bar.

Trying to get in the hotel, using a sat.nav. we could see the hotel but struggled to actually get to it. It wasn't until I phoned the hotel and they explained we had to use the entrance to the holiday inn which we had passed a couple of times.

The experience was fab, the hotel was close to the centre and tram and train stops, but far enough away too be quiet, staff were friendly, was very clean and the staff knew the local area and public transport well, thoroughly enjoyed our stay, would definately stay here againh

Lovely room (1862) - very impressive. Nice staff. Nice breakfast.

Hard to get to (due to the rather odd road network - not anything to do with the Hotel!)

Very hard to find needs signe posts with the road layout as it is x took me 50 mins to get to Sheffield and another 50 mine find you

The room was spacious and clean, good shower, food was nice.

I had asked for a room near a lift for my mum who has difficulty walking as she had no left knee, but this didn't appear to have been taken in to consideration and the room was quite a walk from the lift.

The communal areas i.e. corridors are starting to look a little tired but otherwise value for money and central location, nice room with new bathroom.

The room was spacious and the beds very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and it is one of the last hotels to offer smoking rooms.

it was very central to the city, we were very pleased with the room we had, it had every thing we needed and was very comfortable. It was good value for money, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was also very nice and service was very good. We only stayed for one night as it was our sons Graduation, we could of happily stayed there longer. The hotel had a lot of style and is very well kept.

Close to city centre and staff were very friendly.

I was suprised that we had to pay for parking on site and WiFi was £7 per night! Hotel rooms were tired and quite dusty.

Breakfast very poor, tinned tomatoes, greasy bacon and tough sausages. We had room service breakfast which was nearly cold, the milk was sour and there was no butter with the toast.

I booked this hotel as it claimed to have a gym and was up market from its sister hotel Holiday Inn Express next door. The hotel is nice but tired. Rooms spacious but basic. The gym has only a few worn running machines, stepper and 2 bikes.

I suppose because it is old, its tired in terms of decoration. The rooms need a touch of modernisation. All good though, clean and spacious. Just needed a 'wow' factor to claim the normal fees it charges.

The staff were pleasant- the lady in the breakfast room was very good and chatty and running the whoe show alone Breakfast was good, incl fresh eggs

Bed was extremely hard. The lack of hand wash and shower gel - tried very hard to squeeze some out , need to review this Evening meal and room service food was not very good.
