We could not decide weather it reminded us of a school or hospital...very tired the whole place needs an urgent upgrade or closing down.
Staff were fine Location fine Gym great
TV didn't work in the room Wifi was terrible! Prevented me from doing my admin work.
Wetside facilities very good In room fixtures good value Staff yet again found to be as helpful as possible to meet our needs Look forward to staying again
Unfortunate that extremely busy on our overnight stay this time. Breakfast suffered as a result shortage of what we would normally expect of choices.Staff under pressure due to the numbers for Breakfast, however they did try to meet needs. No Fruit/Cereals etc..
some of the rooms and fittings are looking a little tired. I think a refurb will be needed soon
Gym facilities and pool area very good including sauna, steam room also Jacuzzi kept clean.
Hotel looked tired and rooms plus en-suite required refurbishment. Food in the attached restaurant/bar was expensive and not of great quality and a bit too fancy for this sort of establishment. Should really be pub grub!!..
Close to family and road networks
Bed uncomfortable and rooms need updating.
The bathroom wasnt up to the standard l expected
Gym, swimming pool, jacuzzi, very convenient and free to use.
Wifi sometimes not working.
A good ,clean, friendly hotel.
Room looked a bit scruffy
Well suited for purpose of visiting Relatives in the area. Facilities available on reduced scale due to holiday staffing
Unfortunate lack of heating in allocated room, took over an hour, and two visits to reception,to have room changed.
Receptionist and convenient location.
Ripped curtains in room, a dust cover was situated over the smoke alarm in the bedroom, threadbare carpets throughout hotel, tired bedroom furniture, TV didn't work properly and no plates at breakfast for pastries etc.
The pool and the staff were friendly
we could not eat in on party nights
Rooms are very run down, missing light bulbs and damaged lamp shades, generally run down and long overdue an update but they still charging for top quality rooms.
The Air Conditioning was on in the Dining room blowing cold air making it very uncomfortable (it was December after all). I asked a member of the staff if they could they either switch it off or up the temperature which was totally ignored. On top of this when the food came to the table it was not what I ordered and when I pointed that out I was asked if I would have it any way. I said no could I have the menu, which was met with a tut. After waiting another 10 minutes with the Air Con still blowing cold air I left the restaurant without eating and drove to a local Petrol Station and brought a sandwich.
Room is reasonably comfy and big enough for a long stay (4 weeks+) with all the associated luggage. Good choice of evening meals and great buffet style breakfast.
2 spurious fire alarms during my stay due to people using toasters - unfortunately during the day when I was sleeping due to my night shift. The cleaning staff were great ensuring the guests evacuated the building and went to the correct muster point - however the front desk and sports area staff didn't think it necessary to evacuate or take roll call as it was raining outside. Full marks to the cleaners, but I wouldn't like to be at the hotel during the evening if I have to rely on the other staff to help me in an emergency.
Room OK , staff helpful and breakfast good.
There was a lot of interruption to sleep with several bouts Of hotel corridor rowdiness throughout the night. Last being about 5.00 am
Gym was great
restaurant was so so.
Large room Clean bathroom Good facilities Good breakfast variety Nice staff
Could do with new mattress
Swimming pool has a fair size and you can swim properly. Could order food from a take away as well.
The room could have been cleaner. We had to push the bed close to the wall and it was very dirty under the bed, so we ended up putting a towel on the floor so that we could step on it when leaving the bed.
Price of venue fair
Rooms dirty and outdated Shower room dirty and outdated Non covered walkway to breakfast cold and unappealing Breakfast greasy, poor clearway service Needs a total update and revamp cannot lick the boots of Premier Inn!
I have used the sporting Lodge a number of times before and due to being ill I could not make my reservation, I phoned the hotel to change dates but the member of staff who answered was very short and rude and simply said No you will still be charged so I guess I can't wait to stay at the sporting Lodge again.
Food was good in the bar adjacent to the hotel.
£2 charge on a credit card was not expected although there were signs at reception. Left a sour taste as I was told the bar accepted credit cards for meals without any surcharge. Can't say this often but even a well know Irish airliner charge less for use of a credit card.
