As regular visitors to this hotel we were looking forward to a lovely early evening meal at local Indian restaurant then a relaxing time in our room to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary! We had our champagne in ice for our return! When we returned to our room we were very disappointed to find we had been given room 209 which sadly was above the "wedding disco" we were thoroughly upset as it sounded like we were actually in the disco it was so loud!! After complaining to the duty manager he came to the room to see us and agreed that we could neither sleep well or actually have a decent conversation due to the music! He gave us the room complimentary because the hotel was full and there were no other rooms available, this was a nice gesture but sadly did not give us any peace or sleep until thd music had finished after 1am! We then had the wedding party banging doors and returning very loudly to their rooms! Both my husband and I think that when there is a wedding at the hotel the rooms near the disco should be allocated to wedding guests only! We love staying at this hotel, but sadly our stay this time was ruined, thus making our "special night" without our children a huge disappointment as we were shattered all weekend !! Kind regards Jeannie wood

We requested a family room but upon arrival were told the booking company had only booked us a king. Receptionist was happy to accommodate our request to make up the sofa bed for our daughter but stated this wasn't the first booking that day where this had happened. I am angry at the booking company for doing this.

The staff were excellent, especially with our children aged 10-15. The breakfast seemed expensive especially as we would not want a full breakfast. Perhaps a continental breakfast could be offered at a smaller cost.

The breakfast was ok The walls must have been paper thin as you could hear doors banging all night. I stay in a lot of hotels and I can safely say it was the worse nights sleep I've had in a hotel for years. In my opinion it was of a lower quality than a travelodge or premier inn, but it was 3 times the price.

It was just a base to explore a few places in yorkshire, like york. The outside of the building is very unattractive and could put people off, we found our room ok but not as clean as we would of expected and mouldy ceilings in bath room patched up quickly , room was looking a bit tired with peeling paint on bathroom door and a cigarette burn hole in net curtain, even though it is non smoking. We didn't realise until we were about to go to sleep that the bed linen and pillow cases smelt very strongly of greasy cooking fumes I assume the linen had passed through the cooking area and stood for a while as it was quite bad. When I turned over our pillows to settle to sleep there was so many stains and dirty marks like a shoe print on one of them it wasn't nice at all I left the pillow out and it was changed the next day I couldn't be bothered to complain as we were only there for one more night and really wasn't very comfortable to do so. The reception girl was friendly but really tried to get us to buy the breakfast which we did not want at an extra cost of £10 each per day once we said no she was very uninterested in anything else.

We had stayed there before No bath robes or slippers despite being advertised. Duty manager at the time did not come up with an adequate resolution to the problem. General Manager was supposed to call but didn'T. Overall a poor show by the staff.

The stay at the hotel in Wakefield was excellent we could not fault it the staff were friendly professional tidy in fact very smart a credit to your organisation the hotel was easy to find with a good view from front door being close to the motorway we never heard a sound in the lounge or the room. The room was excellent with plenty of room to move and that's important for relaxing. Keep up the good work we wouldn't hesitate to use the groups hotels if this is an example of the quality within the hotels around the country. Excellent thank you We could not fault the hotel nor the staff as they were excellent

Very easy to find from m1, good parking, Smart friendly staff, good size room, Very good food at both dinner and breakfast. Good selection on dinner menu & reasonable prices. Excellent value, will definitely be staying again. The only very minor complaint we could think of was that the toaster at breakfast was very slow and we needed to put the bread in twice to get it to our liking.

Good value for money and the standard is always good I have stayed at HI`s a few times in the past few years. When leaving the hotel I am always asked if everything was ok and every time I comment that the towels are very poor. This time I took my own as knew exactly what to expect as nothing had chaged and the small pieces of rough material that pass as towels are still in place
