Had a very good stay for 1 night.. Seems the pub at hotel is famous around and was full with locals. Lot of people had gathered for drinks. Recommended if you are going with friends...

The breakfast was large and tasty. The room had peeling wallpaper, one bedhead was so wobbly I thought the bed may collapse, we were given 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel between two of us and the hand towel was stained! Generally the room was clean but we did find some hair clips on the floor. There was a disco until 11.45pm which I don't think happens that regularly but when you have driven for 5 hours you want a good nights sleep. The breakfast took half an hour to arrive even though they knew what we wanted the night before, just seemed to be one member of staff on in the morning.

The evening meal was very good, food homemade and fresh. Location good to explore North Wales by car. The room was not as clean as it could have been, there were stains on some of the sheets. The shared bathrooms did not appear to be cleaned on a regular basis. We had no milk in our bedroom and had to keep going downstairs to ask for some. We werent supplied with enough cups or towels for our party. On the last morning we asked twice for tea with our breakfast, when it still didn't come after we had long since finished our breakfast and the children were fed up we left. We were later approached by the chef who told us he had brought our tea out to find us gone, when I explained we couldn't wait any longer he said someone had come to fix his fridge and he couldn't be in two places at once. On the second morning when there were four tables at breakfast a lady asked for tea, we were told he would see what he could do but he didn't think he had enough teapots for everyone!

The morning staff was very friendly and helpful. The bathroom was very large. Our room was quite clean as I had requested before hand after hearing personal tales of dirty sheets and unclean bathrooms from a fellow wedding guest just the night before we arrived. The Landlady arranged a personal friend to taxi us back to Bangor which was very kind of her and saved us a large amount of money! The inn is very dated. It's above a very local type pub & we felt rather uncomfortable. Unfortunately our friend was given a pint which was off and she couldn't drink it & in the morning she was given sour milk for her coffee! The morning staff was much better than the night staff and were very apologetic about the milk though. You don't get much for your money. It wasn't very accessible via buses or taxis. Thankfully we managed to get lifts to and from the inn.

The lounge bar area downstairs is very pleasnt for a evening meal and drink. Excellant food. Loud music played in bar area until 12am, fine if you intend staying up that late in the bar, not pleasant if you intend getting up early to go hiking.

The breakfast was good, though no choice was given and not included in the price. Beds were comfortable. In need of refurbishment and updating. On-suite bathroom poor, no water pressure in shower and went cold. Not clean, hairs in bath under bath mat!

Cosy and friendly, lovely atmosphere. Garden could be great with a lot more attention - weeding and more shrubs. Apart from the fact that we had no hot water on our first morning and no shower for our 2 day stay, and the stand in chef needs to improve, it was fine.

Good easy to find location. Holland Arms Hotel. has just been refurbished but I think they forgot about the accommadation. I didnt like the lack of general hygiene and cleaniness of the room and en-suite. Would not stay there again.

Very disappointed. Long wait to book in, then rushed into ordering a meal because the restaurant was busy. Then a very poor meal. Little sleep on a mattress with springs almost poking through, and then had to bear the brunt of a chef who only had 6.5 hours sleep and told me if he had known I wanted breakfast at 8am he would have told me I would have to eat elsewhere. He was very confrontational - I settled for tea and toast. Not happy, and will not be staying again

We booked the en suite but there was no hot water and had to use the communal bathroom anyway. You get one threadbare towel Dont expect to get any sleep until the pub closes Staff are not very friendly, in particular the chef seemed very annoyed that we wanted breakfast (despite having included it in our booking). Dont expect to get a choice. He'll cook what he likes and put it in front of you. They say you get what you pay for but i have stayed in hostels better than this.
