Very good value for money, very quiet, had everything we needed.
Nothing to report ;)
Beds to hard
i love everything about the hotel ,i can,t find a fault at all.
Great accommodation - Good facilities - close to city centre, but far enough away to be relaxing. Excellent staff
Other half is vegetarian - two veggie main dishes on menu, but only one available- therefore no real choice.
Spacious room Easy access to tourist attractions
Variety for breakfast but hot breakfast was cold. Disappointing,
Furniture very dated, the service and the food of the restaurant au full
Duvet too small for 2 people to sleep comfortably. Massive stain on carpet. Only got 1 replacement towel after clearly using 2. Could hear the wedding downstairs until late. Poor sound proofing even though we were 2 floors above it. Car park was really expensive. Should be free for guests
Location isn't bad
Lighting in the room was inadequate so had to open the curtains. Bed and pillows were not comfortable, too stiff. Drain was blocked in the bathroom leading to accumulated water when showering.
A perfect location close from city center but in a quiet area. Rooms were clean, breakfast was good, and nice to have the swimming pool. Reasonable parking and they let us use it for the rest of the day after check out.
One of our 2 rooms was not ready when we checked in, but they gave us another pair of connecting rooms right away. The view from our room on the first floor was not good...parking and rubbish area...
Parking too expensive
All good standard. Well above average and nothing to complain about. Recommend.
No steam room
Large room and excellent bed also good breakfast
Pay for parking in hotel car park Tired looking hotel Dirty carpets and stained seating and food over carpet Deep clean needed in shower cubicle and scuffed dressing table in bedroom
- Wifi was good. Good connection speed throughout the stay. - Only a short (15 minute) walk in to the town centre. That really was about it for the good points. I can't comment on the Spa, as we just didn't get time to try it, or the swimming pool. I have a feeling it wouldn't have been up to a 4* standard.
- Shower head was dirty, and covered in limescale - Hairdryer was in poor condition - Pillows were hard. I don't mean firm, I mean HARD. - Matress was HARD. - Headboard was not attached to the wall. A bit unnerving when there are plug sockets on it. - The bed moved. It was on wheels, which is understandable for ease of cleaning the room (if they bother cleaning it) but really, when you get in to bed, the bed shouldn't move. - Sticky marks on the headboard. - Thin, abrasive toilet tissue. - Fire alarm. Test apparently at 1030am every Monday. Didn't hear it, and we were awake from 0900am. - Dirty glasses in the bar. We have stayed in 3* hotels that were better kept. In fact, it was that bad, it has almost put me off the Mercure brand. The only thing that saves the brands reputation with us, is that the one in Exeter was aa very high standard, unlike this one. Very disappointed. We won't be staying there again, and would not recommend it to anyone else.
Spacious rooms Nice little spa pool Lovely food
Not being given my receipt when I asked- sorted now.
Rooms and facilities
Room 127 smelt horrible. Needed a good clean.
Value for money, clean, staff is very helpful
Excellent staff - helpful, informed and friendly Spacious and light rooms Huge beds Immaculately clean Great location 9.45pm last orders in restaurant
Nice view, large room, convenient location.
I had to wait for over half an hour before I could check in as the room hadn't been prepared. Noise level in room not conducive to a good nights sleep.
Very noisy on weekends - attracts large groups of people and parties in rooms seem to be tolerated. Needs a break out area for kids to play. Location is poor - area doesn't feel very safe. We were reluctant to park our car on the street.
very good location with excellent restaurants and bars just a stroll away. staff were polite and helpful, and room and bathroom were a decent size and clean. We didn't book breakfast but had a cheap and cheerful breakie at the cafe next door. Overall was an excellent stop over for our journey to Newquay
requested a room with a decent view, but given a room overlooking the carpark and bins. disappointed with the 'fridge' but told it was a cooler, not a fridge. however it didn't cool our items and had to throw away our milk the next day
Disco right above our heads til gone midnight! Offered change of room at 10.30 but they should have thought of that when checking in!
The rooms and public areas were very good quality
The hotel has a small pool and gym but the spa is a paid facility next door.
Breakfast a bit chaotic due to so many people
