Comfortable beds. Nice and quiet despite a wedding being on each night we stayed. The staff were friendly and helpful. The cleaning staff actually showed us a quicker way to get to reception.
Hotel name in very small print above the restaurant name. Very hard to spot and we were not the only guests to say that to reception. The room was in desperate need of decoration. The shower head moved from side to side when the shower was in full flow.
The help given by all staff. The meals in the restaurant were very good.
Unfortunately we arrived on the day of a wedding and it was rather noisy but we gave credit to all the staff that they did their best to make us feel comfortable.
bed was comfy
price of breakfast price of room
Clean rooms. Good food. Great customer service
Bathroom outdated and shabby. Corridors in room areas shabby but clean
Location in the countryside and close to Macclesfield.
It is great having good looking chandeliers in the dining area but it better when they can work. Water pressure is very poor in the shower mode
the old house could be lovely.
very dirty bedroom- major disappointment and no excuse for poor cleanliness. hadn't been cleaned properly for a long time.
Location Hotel from the front
Musty/damp smell in bedrooms, Breakfast too expensive, Noisy at night from other guests Rooms at the back are a 70's extension, initially we had a view of a brick wall! Wifi was very poor
The staff were attentive and the room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was also very nice as it was included with the room rate.
The shower was very poor, despite looking brand new. The internal decor of the hotel (except the main reception and lounge) was dated.
It was my brothers wedding and everything was just perfect the whole day
Beautiful main entrance and staircase. Hotel set in nice grounds. Bed very comfortable. Lovely meal for wedding.
Shower pressure not very good.
Staff were very accommodating; public areas lovely. A great place to stay for people wanting to ramble in the Peak District.
Room uncomfortable and without WiFi access, although it was available elsewhere.
Entrance and restaurant very impressive. Good service overall
Difficult to find and bedrooms were a bit drab.
Windows were dirty. Walls were scuffed. 3 star is probably accurate. There was nothing wrong specifically, just had a feeling of 'tiredness'. Corridor to rooms was instutionalised; staff didn't give me my room number of explain how the electrics worked. I was expected to find my room on my own, carrying my case up two flights of stairs - when I queried it, they took me to the lift through the 'service' areas which was rather off-putting and there was a fork lying on the floor. The next day I stayed at a hotel of similar price which was spotless and modernised - so much better.
The staff were helpful most of the time. The room was comfortable once a fan had been provided.
There was no air conditioning in the room where the wedding and lunch was held and the temperature was a bit unbearable.
very grand old building
too many stairs to room GPS address incorrect took long time to find then found name on entrance is The Orangery Restuarant
FRIENDLY STAFF, GOOD PARKING, BEAUTIFUL SURROUNDING, GOOD FOOD
BUILDING NEEDS RESTORING TO SAME PERIOD, NEGLECTED!DOORS WINDOW NEED REPLACING AND INTERIOR/ EXTERIOR DECOR NEEDS ATTENTION!! a great shame ....
The wifi didn't work in our room, the tv kept loosing signal.
The location was good as we were visiting friends in Bollington. The beds were comfortable and the room was quiet.
The driveway was full of potholes (not a good start). The room was a bit scruffy (marked walls, dirty carpet etc.) and the shower didn't work - we either had hot or cold water as the mixer didn't work.
The price was too good to be true and theres definetly a reason why.
The shower curtain the the bathroom was beyond abysmal, it was foul to look at let alone stand near it. Couldnt believe the stench of damp in the corridors and room. The restaurant is overpriced for what its worth (standard food). Windows were filthy dirty and the hotel is very awkwardly situated. Overall, will never stay there again. You definetly get what you paid for.
We attended for my Niece's wedding. Lovely reception and food. Staff attentive.
The evening reception DJ (part of the wedding package) was rude, uncooperative and disinterested.
the staff were excellent nothing was to much trouble room was nice comfortable, very clean even a birthday message on the pillow, and a little cake with candle at dinner .the food was superb really well presented and tasty really good chefs.lovely swim before breakfast spotlessly clean pool and changing rooms every thing there you needed lovely grounds to walk walk in the gardeners must work very hard and in such hot weather to keep everything looking lush all the staff go that extra mile to keep the quests happy i will be going back when i next visit the area 10/10
nothing everything and every one was top notch
Excellent food : staff very helpful:location very peaceful and relaxing
No mat in bath which was very slippery when trying to use shower and no bath mat to step out onto floor
Room, after 2 changes. Restuarant.
Fitness room, not open
great friendly helpful staff & the food was perfect. hotel for peace & quiet & great location for The Peaks. will stay again.
I had to book a last-minute hotel due to unforseen work circumstances and had none of the usual travel accessories with me. The helpful staff went out of their way to make sure I had the basics (toothbrush, deodorant etc.) by going off to the shops on my behalf! The room itself was neat, roomy and tidy; the shower clean and functional. The location is in its own grounds with lovely views and a real countryside experience.
Just minor niggles really, the TV didn't work properly, no aircon (I arrived on the hottest day of the year). Nothing that would prevent me from staying here again.
