“Beautiful and grand hotel full of character and old fashioned values of courtesy, great food and attentive service set in fabulous countryside. I had read some reviews that were not so good but took a chance as price was excellent and the location excellent. I'm very glad I did and am looking forward to spending more time there in the future as it exceeded all expectations.”

We stayed at Hollin Hall for 2 nights with our sons and their girlfriends. We were very impressed with all the staff they were friendly helpful and always seemed to be smiling the atmosphere was warm and cosy .We ate in the restaurant on our first night and had a gourmet 3 course dinner stylish creative gorgeous all freshly cooked of the highest standard,we are a foodie family and rarely find restaurants that impress us as we are all good cooks and can often create better food at home, but this was the best we have tasted for a very long time .Well done to the chef and all the waiting staff , Breakfast also great.Wish we could have stayed longer, but my waistline did not agree.Thank you all

The hotel is in very shabby condition. Our room was cold and smelled very musty. Two of the walls were just painted brick. A chunk of rough timber was put between the headboard and the brick wall behind which looked terrible. The furniture in the room had not been dusted. There were hairs on the shower tiles from the previous guests and unsavoury marks in the toilet bowl which I thought must be scratces but actually easily came off when I used the toilet brush. Breakfast was chaotic with no apparant organisation although my partner found the food to be satisfactory. The milk for my cereals and fruit juice I had were room temperature not chilled. We had booked for 2 nights but after seeing the room changed the booking to just the one night. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Situated in beautiful countryside but close to Bollington and Macclesfield it is very convenient. However most rooms are quite basic. As frequent visitors we have experienced several different rooms and the some are of a particulary high standard its the luck of the draw. Breakfast is good and served in the elegantly furnished conservatory. We are happy to stay here on our regular trips to the area.

we loved the location and the atmosphere. The dining room was magnificent , the food was good and the staff very attentive. The hotel was quiet when we stayed in late March ,which we enjoyed as we were having a romantic break away from our adult children . We felt it was amazing value for money, and were prepared to overlook parts of the hotel being a bit dated because of this . The room we stayed in was clean enough , but a bit dated, nasty ceiling tiles and paint work needed refreshing. This did not spoil our stay tho, as it was such excellent value for money.

On a last minute trip to Manchester Airport to pick up our son, I just googled a nearby hotel which looked good on line. At the modest price I didn't anticipate the level of luxury, efficiency and attention to detail that greeted us at Hollin Hall. Legacy are to be congratulated - we will certainly come back and recommend it. Thank you.

On arrival the reception staff were very friendly and polite, and they were very helpful during our stay. The lounge and bar area were very comfortable. The pre-booked breakfasts were also very good. All things considered we would stay again, and would recommend to our friends. Luggage and stairs were a challenge at the end of a long trip from Australia but this is probably the price to pay for staying in a beautiful old building.

The staff are friendly. The public areas, lounge, bar, restaurant are pleasant and have retained period features that provide some charm. I have stayed at this hotel previously. This time instead of a cooked breakfast made to order a buffet style breakfast was offered which was dismal. On second day I didn't even bother having breakfast. The room (38) is in need of refurbishment. Two old oiled filled electric radiators that click loudly when coming on and off are not really what I expect to find in the 21st century. The wireless internet is rather pot luck. The receptionist said it depended on how busy they were whether a connection could be established and maintained.

much improved since our previous stay some years ago. There has obviously been some investment made as the rooms were nicer, better beds, bathroom in better state of repair, and the wi-fi worked quite well. Top marks for the full English breakfast! Wifi did not work in all rooms. Layout is very poor for old / disabled people.
