It was near the town, they offered packed lunches, breakfast was good, we stayed 3 nights and we had an option of using the hotel pool in town, this good for a rainy day.

The parking was tight, but not a problem

Friendly owner. Nice clean room. Good facilities. Excellent breakfast both in quantity and quality. Location of guest house is excellent too, being only five minutes from the lake. I would gladly go there again if I return to Windermere.

Beautifully clean and comfortable. Friendly owner. Freshly cooked breakfast. Near to Bowness centre so no need to move the car, however very peaceful. Can't beat privately owned B&B's.

Beautiful b&b in a perfect location. Nice cosy and clean bay fronted room (room 3). Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. Will be returning very soon, shame we were not staying longer.

    Comfort & cleanliness

Bacon very tough. Seemed to be reluctant to offer alternative to cereal. Did not seem to know much about anywhere worth a visit en route to York.

The room was not in the main guest house; we had a very relaxing sleep. The owners are very welcoming and the guest house location is great.

The shower was hard to get in and out of.

Excellent location. Good information of area and places to visit and eat in booklet. Friendly host.

Could do with having a lounge with board games/magazines at hand for those of us who don't stay out late.

The B and B was in an excellent location with parking which is a huge bonus in bowness. The room was spotless as was the ensuite. Very comfy beds and pillows. Good choice of breakfast. Gill was very welcoming and made our stay very pleasant. We will definitely be back.

Great location - right near all the bars and restaurants but not noisy - its a 5 minute walk into the centre of Bowness. John and Gill were great hosts - not intrusive but available if you needed anything. The rooms were spotless and had everything you needed. Bathroom was really small however again had everything you needed, shower was great and again spotlessly clean. Its an honest B & B and well worth the price!

it was short walk to centre of town,

food was terrible you would think it had been warmed up from previous day, wife started with full english breakfast on first day by day 3 she said she did not want bacon or eggs [inedible]you would have expected at least an extra sausage but no 1 sausage and a teaspoon of beans were put before her, on first day you were asked if you wanted a yoghurt but never again, coffee was left in jug in dining room from day to day ie stewed and undrinkable, toast on tabel 3 half slices each 3 small rapped tablets of margarine between 2 persons 3 small plastic packages of jam and marmalade to go with this, we were asked if we wanted more toast but you did not get any more margerine with these, breakfast started at 9.45 door was opened at 9.46, no lounge to sit in no, sky tv in room, beds were made but sheets never change were told they had to last for full stay, 2 small bottles of water on first day in room but never replenished,on the bedside table was a box of paper towels with 5 in we used these on first day but never got any more, much more but got sick feeling just thinking about this, would really like refund, colin a baxter
