Decided to go away for Bank Holiday at the very last minute and found this hotel on booking.com. Olde worldy thatched cottage in lovely position with stunning views over the countryside in a quaint little village. Ashely and his wife made us very welcome, the room was small but comforatble with a modern bathroom and great shower and pure white fluffy towels. Only Stayed for 1 night and wanted to get out and about so didn't eat at Home Farm Restaurant although the menu looked very varied, appetising and reasonably priced. Good choice of breakfast menu served between 8 - 9.30am. Really enjoyed our stay and will definately to go back again.

The owners (Ashley and Rebecca) and other members of staff we met (Anthony - the brilliant chef, and his wife), are just so lovely at this place!!!! I cannot praise them highly enough. They obviously care passionately about their business, the comfort of their guests and the building itself is just beautiful. They have not been the owners long, but I understand from reading previous reviews that they must have made real changes / improvements to the place and this is really evident. The food was amazing! Thank you Anthony! I wish you guys the best of luck, and we will be back, that is for sure! Thank you to you all for a lovely few days! Lucy & Karen (Poole, Dorset).

We received a very warm & friendly welcome from firstly the Chef (unknown at the time) and then the owner. Our rooms were very clean, tidy & adequate in facilities. The full english breakfast was very good, although it would have been nice to be asked if eggs were to be soft or hard yolk. We also ate an evening meal there which was superb; we all enjoyed our meals but the Lamb Shank was fantastic and locally sourced, as was much of the produce we were told. Our double bed was quite hard and the only chair in the room was not very comfortable to sit on for very long. The little cartons of milk on the in-room tea service were out of date and even though we pointed this out to the owner who said he would have them thrown out, his staff seemed to keep finding more of them, however, they were more than obliging in providing jugs of fresh milk on request.

The warm welcome and the friendliness and helpfulness of the Staff. No request was too much trouble and as a woman travelling on her own I was made to feel very comfortable. The food was exceptional and locally souced within a mile radius of the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel and will definately be staying there again.

It was a very short stay, staff extremely friendly and accommodating. We were upgraded to a bigger room as the place was quiet and the breakfast was really lovely. They are doing some refurbishment and will be opening the restaurant soon, which we intend to visit when we go on holiday later this month. I would happily recommend them to others needing a convenient b&B.

Friendly, easy-going, the new owners seem to be slowly improving the hotel side of the business and are working on re-decoration. The entrance from the road needs to be better illuminated as it is close to a road junction and difficult to see.

Breakfast excellent - all locally sourced. Ambience a little lacking - tealights all around but not lit! Fire lit in bar area and also in dining room would have made a lot of difference to the welcome.

The new owners who had been in residence for only one week were under pressure and on a steep learning curve and despite essential staff being off sick still managed to be very pleasant and helpful. It was a convenient base to visit nearby coastal resorts and other local atttractions. Our room was very close to a busy road and would have benefitted greatly from double glazing or secondary glazing to reduce traffic noise. The previous owners had not kept up essential maintenance and our room needed some minor maintenance to plumbing, bathroom fittings, door draft excluder, switches and replacement lamps.

Our room was fine, quiet, comfortable, a good size and clean. We were met with warm hospitality. The food was average, we ate out on our second night. Our enquiries about wine were met with uncertainty about what was available. The digital television didn't work at all.

Friendly staff Room was poorly serviced in that towels were not checked or replaced daily, water glass on bedside table was left half full all day. Restaurant was very limited for choice and execution of dishes very poor even for simple items I.E. soggy chips (oil not hot enough) etc. I regret that in its present state we would not recommend anyone we know to stay there.

The staff were friendly and polite, the food was excellent and it was a lovely quiet stay. The hinge on my room window was broken so I couldn't open it. It was very hot so I didn't get any ventilation.
