Morning server did not treat all guests in as welcoming a fashion. Be friendly, consistent, and polite to everyone without extraneous gestures.
Check out in front of guests in dining hall, and discussing billing and reservations with owner in front of other guests. Could not get card to go through on their system - I did not have this issue shopping and dining in Cambridge in any other place, nor in traveling through London, and it is probably related to the settings that this small business has on their POS system (based on my experience as a small business person previously). That was an unpleasant and unneeded discussion, with very little assistance or discretion from the owner who repeatedly claimed that it was not his fault. Poor customer service, and not necessarily true, as one who has again done POS for clients using this type of system.
There are not lots of places to dine near the B and B, but the folks in the fish and chips store nearby were lovely, and their food was really delicious.
Excellent breakfast; lovely en suite bedroom that was clean, comfortable and felt safe; owner was willing to wait up to provide access when he could not reach me by phone (poor phone reception while traveling).
Ease of travel using the local bus public transport system, and fairly close to downtown Cambridge with a reasonable taxi fare.
