Breakfast freshly cooked helpful staff. Good value for money.
attic room quite comfortable but very small. Mind your head! Very tight corner into car park. Managed to scratch the car.
Loved the attention to detail with many small lovely features like the very comfy bed linen, deco, availability of iron & ironing board. Excellent location near to Cam river and nice pubs. Wonderful breakfast - best I have ever had in a small hotel/B&B. very friendly owner who will provide advice and recommendations.
Carrying luggage to 2nd floor. Remote control didn't work very well.
It was walking distance to the town center. Cute little neighborhood.
There is the main house and a bungalow at the back, which is where I was - this is well shielded from any external noise, like the road, though the walls are rather thin so you can't miss internal noises from other rooms. Very comfortable room - sofa, desk, big bed etc - and well maintained. The big selling point is breakfast. Visiting Cambridge for business over twenty-odd years, I've stayed in many of the city's hotels, but I have never had a breakfast to equal this one. Very extensive menu for a small establishment, and all cooked to order with real care. Brilliant. It's a bit out of the centre, but a very pleasant walk across Jesus Green.
The breakfast is good. Freshly cooked for each of us. Full English breakfast is available.
Staff and comfort of bed and breakfast .
Bathrobe and slippers provided. Excellent breakfast, great selection. Good location close to the Westbrook Centre.
My room was next to the breakfast room and was quite noisy in the morning.
Self-catering kitchen; asked for and given a hair dryer and a sample-sized shampoo.Friendly staff.
No desk or shampoo provided. Free wifi.
Breakfast was excellent
Close to everything. Nice people.
Having to get a Taxi into the city centre.
breakfast is really good
Good location with parking. Large room and good breakfast, especially the crepes. Vincent very helpful and provided lots of information on what to do in Cambridge.
Nothing to mention
Cleanliness Welcome Breakfast Support staff
Small shower with hard to operate control
Friendly staff Good breakfast Easy walk into town
We had a very enjoyable stay for 2 nights very nice room breakfasts were exceptional all staff very friendly and helpful
slightly more than we would usually pay but overall reasonable
- A nice cup of tea on arrival. - Family suite in the basement very convenient for a couple accompanied by single person (separate single bed in the living room/kitchenette). - Self catering facilities looked good (didn't use them, though). - Really nice breakfast (limited seating in the breakfast room, be prepared to wait). - Short walk to Jesus Green (river Cam and park), and across to the centre of town.
- no complaints, but the place is more like a more or less efficiently run little hotel than a classical B&B - so don't expect much of a chitchat with the landlady or the landlord. They are very helpful, though, if you have a concrete enquiry.
the breakfast is good! and staffs are friendly
just the carpet in the room seem a bit dirty.
Excellent breakfast, comfortable room, safe place to leave bike and ample parking. Would use again
Limited head room in attic room, nice room but take care. Hot in room even mid May although fan provided. Couldn't get in with key provided as some of rooms are accessed through number 80 rather than 78, why not mark the key fobs rather than let people fumble outside?
It does feel like home. The room is charming, cozy, and nicely decorated. The house where I stayed had a living room and a kitchen, the latter being particularly useful if you don't feel like going to a restaurant. The breakfast offers all the basic needs and, in addition, you can order from a variety of English breakfast-style sides which are prepared fresh.
Staff helpful and friendly. Near towpath and common. Short walk to centre.
- reasonably priced - very good breakfast (on first day there was however a reduced selection as I was the only guest staying). - nice extras (teabags, biscuits, toiletries etc. - though these were not topped up during my stay) - comfortable bed
- Noise: washing machine or dishwasher run late at night (after 10pm) and can be heard in room; toilet extractor fan takes approx. 15 mins to turn off and is very loud; squeaky floorboards outside room, stairs and room above meant that other guests are very audible. - Distance: quite far to city centre - Layout etc.: furniture in room is awkwardly placed (chair blocks wardrobe, bed blocks plug sockets (not enough plug sockets), tea tray occupies most of desk), toilet very cramped (faces wall), seat not attached properly to ceramic, bathroom smells of damp and towels were not replaced each day (although there were a lot of towels)
The breakfast was not too bad. Rooms are clean and staff-good.
The location is not as close to city center as expected. The most frustrating experience was when we were waken up at 7:30 am by the noise fro the staff coming to work and opening the kitchen, as they put us in the back yard bungaloo where the "reception" was.We went for a holiday, therefore it was definately not a good experience to wake up that early.
The best home made breakfast I've ever had in a B&B! Delicious pancakes, and plenty of other options available. Friendly staff, flexible on checking in hours when travelling from far locations.
The room was very close to the kitchen, thus you may be waked up earlier than in other rooms. Not sure the room location depends on the deal offered
breakfast excellent. very clean and spacious. nice staff.
