The apartment had been well-cleaned before my arrival. The staff were available on the phone, polite and very helpful. The bed was very comfortable. The apartment was kept nicely warm and I had no trouble with the internet.
Although clean, the apartment was rather shabby, with torn wallpaper and damp spots by the kitchen sink. No attention had been paid to some details: all the clocks were wrong for example. On the first night, the television randomly turned itself on at 5 in the morning, giving me quite a fright. I unplugged it after that.
I suggest they install an individual heater . There are some nights were quite cold . To install more lights at the kitchen & sitting area . Inform to replace the lights at the kitchen cabinet & bathroom light was not done , just came to check only.
Holcroft: Pleasant and compact apartment. great to have WiFi, and wired internet if required.Good TVs, cooking equipment more than adequate. Comfortable bed. Decent shower. Location altho' a little way out, the city centre easily accessible on foot or by bus and ideal for visit to cinema, ten pin bowling etc. We enjoyed our long weekend.
Would benefit from a full length mirror, or at least a mirror close to a socket for drying hair. There weren't any pillow or mattress covers/protectors.
On arrival coffee, tea, milk, bread and fruit available Modern and light rooms Cleanliness Nearby train station Nearby Cambridge Leisure Centre with restaurants and supermarkets Wifi
No frying pan (not a real problem, cooked bacon in the oven)
Excellent location to local shops and Cambridge City Centre. The flat met our needs and was most suitable for my husband's recuperation after an operation at Addensbrookes. Colins dad was great and the welcome pack was a lovely touch.
Air conditioning would have been welcome especially at night and access to the garden during the gloriously warm week we spent in Cambridge would have made our stay complete.
Location great for city centre and folk festival, on bus route to both. Helpful staff, useful mini food starter pack provided, eggs, milk, tea, coffee, washing up liquid etc. , Clean and tidy, comfortable bed.
Odd smell when entering hall probably from washing machine, hall could do with being brighter. Bare minimum provided, I mug, I cereal, bowl, no frying pan, only I rubbish bag, no cleaning materials in kitchen. Décor could do with an update, bedroom lamps dark.
We enjoyed our stay; close to the shops, public trasport at the front door. Bedroom was fine as was the kitchen sitting room.
We disliked the hall way which welcomes guests with a very odd an unpleasant smell. We can only assume that it is the 'behind -the -curtain' washing machine. We never used the washing machine as there did not seem to be a light by which to operate the equipment. The ensuite was a trifle small.
Everything was perfect for us. We were in Cambridge for a wedding at Homerton College so the location was ideal. The apartment was just what we wanted and the little touches like the milk, eggs, butter etc waiting for us and being flexible with check out time was hugely appreciated. We would definitely stay again without a second thought and most probably will.
the way they prepare for guests and the flexibility of the time of checking out
Worth the price for a short stay...
Dryer and washing machine making a lot of noise!!
The owners are very careful with guests' demands and very communicative. Location is attractive to both centre of town and the surrounding areas.
Lots of space. Kitchen had eggs & milk & butter & toast.
Heating in building did not seem to be turned on, bathroom had a damp smell. When I got there late I had trouble getting into the building, so best to get there early.
The close proximity of food stores, restaurants, movies, Train Station and Bus Stops.
I leally have enjoyed my stay at this apartment and the AMAIZING thing was the fruits and bread on first day which was a kind welcoming from the owner..
Thoughtful welcome pack with fruit, bread, coffee, sugar and tea. Kitchen well equipped. Allowed early check in on request. Easy to buy stuffs from supermarkets close by. Busstop is just steps away. Railway station is also not very far away.
Cannot control the heating, auto switch-on at night only. Bed a little soft.
The location is very good. The home touches such as bread, fruit, coffee on arrival was very nice. The kitchen is well equipped. The flexible check out-time was very helpful. Despite being on a busy road - it was very quiet.
We stayed there for 8 nights. I found the bed to be rather small and uncomfortable - had a back ache after 3 days. There were lots of cobwebs on the ceiling in the bedroom. Bathroom is very very small with cracked tiles and mould. I would have liked it to be cleaned more than once in 8 days. The couch in the kitchen is also very small and quite uncomfortable. Probably more suitable for a single person than a couple. Still preferable to a hotel, though.
facilities, welcome pack, comfort, location
no personal contact, lights not working but were fixed when reported, standard of cleanliness not good in bedroom, only one teatowel to last a week
