Had an amazing suite with a lovely roll top bath and the spa was lovely
I thought the dinner needed abit more atmosphere like music or a band
I was after a quiet getaway to celebrate our wedding anniversary and could not have asked for a better location. The hotel staff were incredibly helpful before we arrived and answered emails promptly and accurately. Upon arrival we were looked after and spent a relaxing afternoon in the spa - hydrotherapy pool, sauna, steam room and outdoor pool under the stars. Pre-dinner drinks in the cosy bar were followed by a delicious three course meal. The staff were attentive and courteous...what was not to like? As there were no large functions/weddings taking place on the night that we stayed, the hotel was blissfully quiet. I have no reservation in recommending Homewood Park.
Hotel is in a lovely location for a getaway and being able to visit Bath rather than be in the hustle and bustle of the centre. Rooms spacious and comfortable
Service in the restaurant over dinner was beyond poor. I got the feeling that they were short staffed as the wait we experienced to get seen too was ridiculous.
Friendly, comfortable, high quality hotel with excellent spa fasciities. Perfect breakfast, quiet country area. Staff were amazing. Would definately return.
Before our trip we read a number of reviews , both good and bad The staff were excellent , apart from one in the morning who got easily confused with orders and table locations Lovely location On arrival we were shown to the room and had a pesonal christmas card and letter on bed Food was excellent Bed was extremely big and comfortable , room clean Lounge area lovely with open fire place
Right I read a previous review about a person unhappy with having their room next to the cleaning cupboard , well which room did we get ??? You guessed it . A little noisy , room 5 !! The shower had no pressure , very weak Portion sizes are not big enough and expensive The outdoor pool and jacuzzi are excellent but having to walk back to the hotel in the pouring rain on a cold evening is not pleasant ! How a hotel on this scale cannot provide cover from the hotel to the pool i do not know We asked about services in the spa such as massages, but the services were fully booked ! I read about this problem before ! I dont understand why they dont assign one member of staff to deal with hotel guests so people who are paying alot of money to stay there could enjoy the services that are advertised when booking the hotel !!! No toilet brush No fridge in room No draught beers , only a selection of bottle beers
Value for money Location Staff service can be better
It was a very spacious room with a lovely view. My daughters and I felt we were on a "sleep over" at a grand house. The cream tea in the afternoon was delicious.
Having to access the pool and spa area from the outside could be seen as a negative but given that the temperatures were unseasonably warm it turned out to be delightful. Tea time is very busy in the Spa and it felt quite crowded.
Very pleasant staff. Large bedroom with lovely views of the countryside. Excellent food.
Bathroom needs attention. No glasses in bathroom.
The dinner in the evening was great and the service was first class from all the staff.
Hotel is aesthetically pleasing.
Customer service is very poor. Staff are very rude and are not flexible whatsoever. Many hidden costs, such as a £5 charge for room service (just to bring your order to the room). Spa is fully booked and no slots available for in house guests. Breakfast is poor, very little selection and when things run out they are not replenished.
Had a niece break, thankyou
Not value for money
Quality of the food, both evening dinner and breakfast were delightful. All the staff I met and dealt with were both friendly and professional. Hotel is very quiet, a great nights sleep on a very comfortable german matress (So good I had to take a look!!)
The room's facilities and very handy disabled parking.
My room (no 14) was so hot! The housekeeping cupboard next door was at times a noisy problem. However, if I have to comment, the decor in my room was tired. Paintwork in need of repair and windows with black 'damp' in each corner. The bar was far too small and was surprised when requesting a brandy that he had to leave the room to find the key to the cupboard!
The fact that I paid a lot of money to stay in a spa hotel only to find upon arrival that no treatment appointments were available as they had been fully booked two weeks in advance. Why was this not advised to me prior to me booking the room. Why are spots not offered or reserved for spa guests?
Room , comfort , facilities and staff
Food not up to expected standard both the expensive bar meals and the inclusive breakfast .
Amazing hotel I wish I could've stayed more than one night! Facilities are really great, lovely swimming pool and Spa. Room was so comfortable and relaxing and the breakfast was delicious.
The price haha!
The hotel was an absolute delight; the setting, facilities, comfort and staff were ideal. Afternoon tea in the garden was a treat and dinner in the restaurant was excellent. We would definitely stay there again
Good location, quiet and lovely grounds
Bit stuffy, should have proper tables in bar if they offer bar meals. No flannels in bathroom.
I had very little time to enjoy the hotel but the staff were lovely and very helpful, the room was spotless and very comfortable , the breakfast delicious and the surroundings beautiful.
The fact that I had so little time there !
Spacious room with fantastic ensuite. Lovely comfortable bed very quite room would recommend room 20
Could do with a covered walk way to spa the weather was lovely when we stayed but not so nice if raining apart from that could not fault anything else
We found it had easy access to bath, the grounds were stunning, our room was spacious and the cleaner was friendly as was the breakfast team.
When we arrived the receptionist didn't give you a warm welcome, she wasn't rude but not very welcoming and I had said in the booking form that we were coming from our wedding for our honeymoon but this wasn't acknowledged at all which was a shame really, just a small acknowledgement would've been appreciated. We have a young baby but in hindsight the hotel wasn't ideal with children as we could only use the outdoor pool and as the weather was cold my partner wanted to go into the inside area so we could take It in turns to use the Jacuzzi while the other held the baby but we found out children are banned from this area. It would be helpful if this was made clear on the website as it meant we couldn't have the type of break we'd wanted. So my wife called the Spa to book a treatment but the phone was never answered and she range regularly, in the end she called reception and asked if they could get the spa to call back but no-one ever called her and still having so she never had a treatment which she was very disappointed about. We had room service each night but I felt the price of the meals and tray price added were too much for what it was. We have always stayed in Spa hotels and yours was quite expensive. We also had afternoon tea and chose the basic option but when we checked out we had been given and charged for a more expensive option, we didn't know we had been served the wrong tray otherwise we would have said. On the last night I ordered the club sandwich and within an hour was very ill which lasted for a couple of days when we had moved on to the next leg of our minimoon, my wife told the receptionist that I was Poorly after eating this as we wanted the kitchen to be made aware. We didn't hate our stay but in hindsight the hotel was not ideal for a young family.
The staff were friendly and helpful. We were upgraded from a Classic to a Deluxe room as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary following a phone call to the hotel. The room was delightful with a view on 2 sides. The dining room was a very pleasant place to eat and breakfast was tasty and there was lots of variety. The outdoor swimming pool was the attraction and we made full use of it during our 2 night stay.
I felt that the rooms were expensive and if you only stay 1 night you may only use the facilities from 14.00-20.00 following check-in and then 8.00-11.00 before departure. If you wanted to use them for longer there was a hefty £50 charge. Everything that was a little bit extra was charged for and I've stayed in other similar hotels where it felt as though they were trying to spoil you and it made a big difference. There were no patron reductions to the cost of spa treatments or meals during the stay and I'm sure that more people would have booked them had there been. The dinner was lovely but at £40 per head without drinks I felt it was expensive and again it felt as though there were lots of extras that we had to pay for.
The hotel & surroundings was so lovely. The room was cosy & quiete which made for a good nights rest. The staff was very warm & friendly which made us feel at home. The dinner was was very good & tasteful. We enjoyed the spa facilities & will def recommend to others.
The breakfast was a bit of a let down. Can give more cereal choices especially if you have kids. The poached egg was not runny. Was'nt Full English breakfast as there were a few things missing on the plate.
I liked the location and the hotel grounds were lovely. The restaurant food was superb and the staff were very polite and friendly
The room cleaning was below standard for paying £300 a night. We were left with used wet towels and bath mats, the beds were made with our clothes buried in the bed sheets! And dirty cups were left and not replaced. I was also a little disappointed in the pedicure at the Spa. I paid £53 for a 45 min pedicure that did not even include a foot massage. The pedicure was also of a average standard which was quite diappointing given the hotel is advertised as a spa hotel. I expected smething a bit more luxurious.
