Honest Lawyer Hotel    

Good location easy access to Durham, on bus route. Staff very friendly and eager to help. Parking outside of bedroom, motel style.

Nothing, really, we stayed for two nights and really enjoyed our stay. Eating in the restaurant each evening.

The staff were great and couldn't be more helpful. The restaurant served great food at very reasonable prices

The hotel is on a main road and staying in room 44 it backed onto the main road. The noise went on through the night and it was impossible to get a good nights sleep. The room had recently been decorated and still smelt very strongly of paint. All surfaces were covered in dust and grime, especially in the bathroom where the sink had mud up it. Wifi was not available in any of the rooms

The bedrooms in the courtyard were decorated with a cozy feel. As well as feeling luxurious. The view was lovely from the window.

The extractor fans were very loud. We could hear the one next door was very clear. The early breakfast at the weekend. ...8-10. We didn't make it.

Excellent evening meal. Good room and fittings.

Noisy both from the main road and adjoining rooms.

The friendly, constructive approach of the staff. Well designed and equipped rooms, though a little more space would be welcome. Dinner was excellent and tasty (tho' portions rather large)

A bit too near the road. Pillows were too bulky. Perpetual music in bar and restaurants - we found no quiet corner.

I didn't know where to put my cigarette out when smoking outside no facility's I had to stub them out and put them in our room bin wrapped in tissue

We stayed at the honest lawyer for a weekend break to visit Durham and Beamish open air museum.(ask at hotel reception for discount vouchers for Beamish) the staff were all very friendly and efficient.service in the restaraunt and bar was good with good food and a large choice of drinks available. The bed was really comfy!! En suite was well equipped with towels and toiletries. I would definateley use this hotel for future visits to the area.

Location - too far from Durham city. Need a car.

Was only there for one night and found nothing adverse. Will definitely be staying again.

The food in the restaraunt was fantastic, the bed in the room was very comfortable, nice big tv in the room, very fresh and clean!!

The shower was far to hot at its coolest setting and the car parking wasn't very good

The very helpful receptionist when I had problems with my car. She got the garage to collect it and fix it.All the staff were friendly and helpful.

The two noisy men in the next room on our first night. They arrived at 2.45 am,and played loud music until 7am. no sleep that night!!Unfortunately there was a communicating door which was not sound proofed enough.

Very friendly welcome from Julie when we arrived, good quality comfortable beds, excellent breakfast with good service on first morning.Liked being able to park car outside the room so making moving lugage easy.

Excessive noise due to close proximity to busy road, also due to being given a room with a connecting door to the next room we could hear everything being said in that room. Breakfast on the second morning was very disorganised with "hot" food being served from containers but was barely warm. When checking out I mentioned these things to Chris on reception, he made no apology for our dissastisfaction and his only remark was "I will pass your comments on".

Friendly personnel, clean. Budget-friendly. Reasonable restaurant.

During our complete stay (3 nights) wifi was out of order. Bathroom was cold (unheated) in April. Location near noisy through-road

Food was lovely

The staff could not be more polite or nicer. They made me and my boyfriend feel welcome and made our stay even nicer. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the food from the restaurant was delicious. Enjoyed ourselves so much we are re-booking to go and stay in a few weeks time. Definitely recommend!

The only thing which has nothing to do with the hotel was that neither me or my boyfriend can drive therefore it was costing a lot of money to go to and from Durham city centre.
