Loved the whole place.
Good food in the restaurant nice bed
Comfy pillows. Lovely staff excellent food nice place to stay
Hard beds that's all everything else super
We booked at 24hr notice and got a fabulous room, delicious food, both dinner and breakfast, and the staff were super. we will definitely be back
Really friendly & helpful staff, Plenty of parking (free), very good reasonably priced restaurant, real ales at bar, excellent breakfast with lots of choices, very clean and tidy, easy to find. Great for a stop over or using as a base to explore North Devon. Highly recommended and I would happily return.
We had a "standard" room. Would have benefited from having a kettle, either there wasn't one or maybe we didn't look hard enough for it. Don't let it put you off going.
Food very good. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Entrance to car park when approaching from bideford direction, care needed
Food accommodation helpfulness
Just one thing it was very warm but I know I like things cooler than the majority.
The food was great, I had the partridge
No mobile signal - not the hotels fault. But, there again it could be seen as a bonus
That as this was the first trip away since our daughter was born 2 1/2 years ago we got all the rest and relaxation we needed with great service, lovely food and a super comfy room. Thank you
Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. My partner and I had the best meal we have eaten in a long time and the inn and accommodation were warm and inviting. Lovely stay!
Everything about our stay was lovely and will be definitely be going back
Comfortable, cosy, & well located, with friendly staff & good range of beers/ciders. Simple menu with well cooked food. Nice to be able to walk over the fields to the coast footpath in 20 minutes from pub car park.
Needs redecorating in places, to address the wear & tear of a long season. Good value at the discounted rate I paid, but not if I'd paid full tariff.
The staff, the location, and the fact that they understood ';gluten free' for my wife.
nothing I can think of at this moment
Would love to stay again really lovely room and very nice staff !
breakfast was excellent as was menu , price and ambiance in bar . Staff were attentive and friendly. Great shower in lovely room full of character. Would definitely stay there again.
We don't normally go for properties adjacent to a road because of possible road noise but this was not a problem at all due to double glazing and heavy curtains.
The Hoops is a lovely old pub/hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was excellent as we were upgraded. Our evening meal was very good and so was the breakfast - pancakes, bacon &maple syrup - yum!
Superb location to explore mid Devon coast, the hotel is a wonderful old inn, with lots of character. The staff are wonderful, food excellent. We stopped 2 nights in the suite which is gorgeous having 4 poster bed and Jacuzzi bath. Strongly recommend the Hoops Inn
The only minus was the mattress, it was uncomfortable, and would like to see a memory form mattress
stuff were attentive value for money old building
food, breakfast, room was clean and well cared for comfortable, hoops inn was lovely old world charm , staff were excellent and very friendly will stay again ,
boiler noise in room 17 kept me awake as it was on all night told the hotel and they reduced the price, the room was sold as having Jacuzzi bath , this didn't work apparently all of them in all the rooms on this floor didn't work, :( so I won't stay in room 17 again
Quaint & historic.Staff were very friendly & helpful.Breakfast was well worth having.
I would of been very upset if I had of paid full price for our suite.Definately not value for money. The mattress was like sleeping on a medieval form of torture. It was so incredibly uncomfortable. The noise from the bar although muted was still very annoying.
Position, style, decor and food.
No room phone( emergency calls?). Re claimed furniture could have been cleaner.
The room was well set out and had everything you could need. Tea and coffee making facilities including biscuits and hot chocolate. Plenty of space, spare pillows in cupboard. Varied menu for breakfast and all prepared freshly. We also ate dinner there every night and food was excellent too. Staff are professional, friendly and very knowledgeable so much so we decided to stay an extra night after they recommended some places to visit.
Nothing an excellent experience
Very cosy rooms and Tea and Coffee available. Food in the pub area really tasty; good selection of beers. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good parking area. Met all our expectations.
Staff and food excellent
All aspects of visit.will go again soon
