Staff were brilliant Excellent food Exceptional room Recommended to friends
Room was very comfortable, décor of high standard and kept in character with the Inn. Friendly staff who gave good customer service.
More choice on the breakfast menu. Cooked food was fresh and ample but not much choice if you don't want cooked breakfast. Porridge would have been a good alternative. Only basic choice of cereal, all pre-packed, no fruit or yoghurts. Coffee was warm and cold by second cup!
Excellent location, full of trafitional character. Cosy bar area with lovely log fire. . Superb hearty breakfast.
Staff and Manager were very helpful and friendly. We were wanting to have breakfast earlier than normal on the 2nd night, so they made up a lovely breakfast tray for us and delivered it to our door the night before. Very comfortable room, bar and restaurant areas with real fire.
Only a couple minor things to mention mainly cosmetic i.e. there was some plaster off the wall in our room and the bath panel was split and some tiling needed whitening, and a little bit of attention to decor needed in the breakfast area. We had a meal in the restaurant on the 2nd night which was good, but could have been abit hotter personally, but it was nothing to complain about. Its little things that certainly didn't impinge on a very enjoyable stay, and we would be happy to recommend and stay again.
Loved the the room it was one of the best places we have stayed.we did book the superior room and paid £65 for the night but thought it was worth more.had a meal in the evening and the food was exellent. Would love to go back in the summer
The food was fantastic, room had great character and was very clean.
Staff, location, food.
Nothing all very good.
The staff were really welcoming and kindly gave us a prompt breakfast so that we could get away on time. The food and wine in the pub was lovely. Really cosy place and interesting old building. Fantastic value for money and really easy to find.
Great bar with excellent food, great ales, and very cozy with open fire and a log burner. Lovely rooms with beautiful furniture and comfortable beds.
Beautiful room, great value, lovely breakfast and a cozy bar area. All very nice and clean.
We felt relaxed and everything went well with our stay. Car parking was excellent. The hotel was easy to find and was a convenient location for visiting Bideford,
There was nothing we didn't like.

Value for money, Good food with excellent service Room no2 came with Jacuzzi bath
Coming home .
The staff were all courteous and happy, the room was very comfortable. Loads of character in this place even down to the squeaky floorboards. The food at breakfast was great and so was dinner in the restaurant (I recommend the lamb). Try their local bottled scrumpy, its a bit lively.
Friendliness, cleanliness, helpfulness and most importantly Good Food that caters for a Gluten Free Diet! Would strongly recommend!
from the moment that we set foot inside the Hoops Inn we were hugely impressed by the friendliness of the staff and nothing was too much trouble for them. We would recommend the inn to all readers of this review. Many thanks.
There was very little not to like.
Loved the whole place.
Good food in the restaurant nice bed
Comfy pillows. Lovely staff excellent food nice place to stay
Hard beds that's all everything else super
We booked at 24hr notice and got a fabulous room, delicious food, both dinner and breakfast, and the staff were super. we will definitely be back
Really friendly & helpful staff, Plenty of parking (free), very good reasonably priced restaurant, real ales at bar, excellent breakfast with lots of choices, very clean and tidy, easy to find. Great for a stop over or using as a base to explore North Devon. Highly recommended and I would happily return.
We had a "standard" room. Would have benefited from having a kettle, either there wasn't one or maybe we didn't look hard enough for it. Don't let it put you off going.
