The owner Jaqueline was fantastic, allowed me an early check in so I could attend a family wedding, she was friendly and went the extra mile.
Brilliant value for money.

Paid extra for the breakfast which was freshly cooked and very good.

Great little B&B with first class service. Really comfy bed so a great nights sleep. The breakfast was wonderful and our hosts were so friendly but professional. We stayed 2 nights for a nearby wedding and it was perfect.

The Maypole hotel is in Wellow, which is a nice little village next to Ollerton. We chose this location because it’s near many great nature parks and attractions. Including Sherwood Pines, Sherwood Forest, Clumber Park and Thoresby Hall. Also perfect for the twilight session at the Aqua Sana at Centerparcs, only a 15 minute drive away. The food at the hotel restaurant is really good. We also tried the Rose Cottage on Old Rufford Road, which was amazing. Beautiful decor and great food. Booking needed.

We stayed in the old part of the village which is charming.
We stayed in the old part of the village which is charming. There is an old watermill which has been converted to a tea room. We had afternoon tea there & they served the best scones I've ever had! There is an Italian Restaurant located on the river Maun & the food was delicious. The bells of the church ring every quarter of an hour which I found delightful but the kids woke up a few times so that feature may not be for everyone! There are buses directly to Nottingham and Mansfield & the supermarkets are all in walking distance from the old village.

Small and quiet village close to main attractions in Sherwood Forest and surrounding areas. We recommend the tea shop and the garden bar in Bella Vita next to the river and The Village Kitchen Café in Edwinstowe. We did GoApe, pony trekkingaa and story telling in the forest. And a visit to Creswell Crags and Nottingham castle. All were great.

We stayed at this location because of its proximity to the Sherwood Forest Crematorium (less than a mile).
The village of Wellow is very pretty and the Old Red Lion pub there provides excellent food served by friendly staff.
If staying at the Maypole Inn I would avoid their breakfast, which was appalling.

A walk around the old town doesn't take long, but there are some interesting buildings to see. The mill run and the river border a small piece of land where there are a couple of benches. The old mill is a tea shop, which looked very nice, but sadly we were too late arriving before the closed notice appeared at the entrance. There are public areas nearby for walking which relate to the old railway.
We became part of the family home almost immediately.
It's rare to feel at home so quickly, in someone's private premises, but our wonderful hostess managed with the first five minutes!
We chose to purchase English breakfasts and they were the same standards as 5-star London hotels.
Two evening meals, based on our wishes were also made for us. Fantastic meals! An amazing cook/chef!!
Hotel in a good location for my needs. Looks very welcoming from the roadside. Plenty of easy parking and extra bonus for me that there were some rooms with direct access from the car park. Lovely room with everything in I required. Continental breakfast which isn't my first choice but perfectly adequate. Staff really helpful when I needed to stay an extra night too.
Excellent hotel very friendly staff especially the manageress and barman that was on Sunday night (26th Sept) that went out of their way to make us feel welcome in the bar only downside was we only stayed one night but will definitely book again
great pub with brilliant staff. arrived on Pie night - so very busy but the pub makes sure that hotel guests will eat if they want to regardless of the restaurant being full
on a busy road but you cant really hear it from the room
This place was perfect for our stay in Ollerton. The pictures show exactly what the place is like. It was clean, comfortable, and very cozy. The host was very responsive and I loved the tray of 'groceries' that was waiting for us.
hard to beat this property in terms of value for money. the appartement is simple but the beds are very good quality (which is a huge ++++ for us)
with the big tesco next to it, it is definitely a great little spot in Ollerton !
The hotel was fine for one night as we attended a wedding nearby. Reception staff were helpful and there was plenty of parking available. The beds were comfortable and our room was a good size.
The room was lovely, it was clean, and you could park directly in front of your room. The hotel allowed us to check in early which was great as we were attending a wedding.
Hotel recently refurbished to a very good standard. Everywhere spotlessly clean. Good ambience in public areas. Delicious food. Staff friendly and helpful.
great location near Sherwood Forrest, close to all amenities Tesco/asda/dominos etc secure location, very tidy apartment with everything you need inside.
