Food was lovely. Room was very nice with a lovely big window. Room backed straight onto the back yard where kitchen and bar staff used. Felt a bit exposed.

Very friendly reception and general staff treatment. Goos overnight stay en-route to Scotland in an attractive small town and estuary, previously only seen from the train.

Its directly opposite where I was working, I am familiar with the village and its always a pleasure to stay there. Will be staying again this time on a personal visit. Not to keen on building work at 8.30am but my alarm didnt go off so was a blessing in disguise. It is what it is, makesno attempt to be anything its not and I like that in a place. Excellent morning staff also they made me a bacon sandwhich to go as I was in a rush whixh is mega brownie points for me! Anybody who complains at this place for the money deserves to be shot. Nothing. Good accomodation. Will certainly be back.

The location was the only good thing about this hotel. The staff where rude as soon as we walked in. We also asked for 2 rooms as clOse as possible as we have 3 children , but they put us at completley opposite ends of the hotel and tried to charge us for an extra bed which they didnt give us! The rooms where very noisy and I could hear all the people in the bar downstairs. The heating was turned at midnight as well so the rooms where freezing.it is one of the worse hotels I have ever beenin and do Not recommend it at all , especially to families!

We had three small dogs with us, the staff made us all very welcome reserving tables for dinner and breakfast for us in the bar where we could be accompanied by the dogs. Hotel exterior was very pretty with window boxes and hanging baskets. Room was comfortable, not spotless but we were not concerned about a little damp in the bathroom or dust under the bed, the main parts of the room were very clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Some noise from other rooms, unavoidable but dogs barked and probably annoyed neighbouri residents, not really a problem for us but may have been for others,

The full English breakfast was excellent with very good service. The room was large and bedding clean. Good location for the beach and the Northumberland coast/countryside. Room was a little dated. The toilet needed attention as there was a slight drip from the handle. The bathroom door was a little difficult to open and close - just needed a little bit shaved off for a better fit.

The location was brilliant & we had a great time by the sea & at Alnwick castle and the actual bedroom was clean & a comfortable size. I was dissapointed with the standard of the bathroom given the price for our room & the advertisement of a refurb?? The bathroom & windows & lots of other things in the hotel & anchor were in need of an upgrade. The food wasn't good value either although the size of the breakfast was great, the taste was not. The meat seemed old & on the whole the breakfast was very unappetising. I think for the price we paid it could have been much better.

The welcome and care of the staff were excellent. I was made very comfortable as a solo traveller with thought for where to book me in for an evening meal. The room was lovely with a very comfortable bed and space. The food was good and the service likewise. a good place to explore the Northumbrian coast from.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, and they willingly served it 30 min early to fit in with my arrangements. Most staff smoked so much standing about outside leaving bar/reception unattended. Two of my three evening meals were not good, but I heard others complimenting the chef, so perhaps I chose the wrong things. Certainly the worst lasagne I've ever had! Shortage of hot water in the morning - had two cool showers. No car park so had to park on street, but not easy to find a space nearby.

It was a very nice location right near the seaside. The town of Alnmouth was simply lovely. The owner was very nice and helped with any questions. The inn also had very good food. We stayed in the family room which was very large.
