Boasting panoramic views of the Clyde to the Isle of Arran, and only a 5-minute walk from central Ayr, the hotel is the ideal base from which to explore the beauty of Ayrshire. The hotel is a highly recommended choice for golf breaks, with over 30 superb courses in the Ayrshire area. Why not take advantage of the hotel’s complimentary tee-off booking service, available to all guests? If you want a break from the golf course, the hotel’s location is also close to many attractions, including Ayr's long sandy beach and a large play park. Only a short drive from Glasgow Prestwick International Airport, the Horizon Hotel is the perfect choice for those visiting the 'Burns An' A' That! Festival' and the Homecoming in 2009. We wanted a short break near the seaside, we also wanted to take our dog, which the hotel accomodated. The staff were great and set up our own wee table for dinner and breakfast in the lounge area so that our dog could stay with us, the food was great and we will definately go back again. We could not find any fault in this hotel

The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make us welcome. They were also happy for our little dog to stay and the room was on the ground floor which was handy to take him out for walks. They also let us have breakfast in the lounge area which meant we didn't have to leave him in the room on his own.

My husband is disabled (very poor mobility). We had a ground floor room with direct access to the car park. (Our car was right at our door) There was a lift up the 6 steps to the dining-room. The meals were excellent, the staff most cheerful and helpful. The Horizon suited our needs completely.

I have stayed at this hotel before in April 2010 and as I was entering Scotland via stranraer and travelling onto the north of Scotland it was an ideal stop over point. Incidentally I phoned and cancelled my booking at the Imperial hotel for sat 27/8/11, and was told that I would have to cancel it through you, as I was unable to access a computer until I got home at 21.00hrs on 27/8 that was an impossibility. I told the Imperial,Castle Douglas that.

The staff were very friendly & our evening meal was excellent, so good we cleared our plates which is unusual for me. Would have liked a sea view room. Also, in the morning when waking up there was a centipede crawling on the covers

The most lovely thing was the friendliness & willingness of all the staff to help & be hospitable at any time, & with every request.I Especially appreciated the attention of Craig the manager, in taking the trouble to personally bring me blankets, & sort out my lights in my room on my arrival. That was really great & a lovely welcome, as I was tired (& grumbly!) I never like too much food on the plate. I would have to say that the food was not great.

We enjoyed the cooked breakfast however do not feel it was worth £9.50 Unfortunately we did not read that some rooms may be attic rooms and we had one, there were a lot of stairs to climb!

Right by he sea - fab. Good value I realise that everyone does this now but I think that making your own toast is a step too far. I would not complain about it though - just an opinion.
