The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make us welcome. They were also happy for our little dog to stay and the room was on the ground floor which was handy to take him out for walks. They also let us have breakfast in the lounge area which meant we didn't have to leave him in the room on his own.

We have stayed here before as it is dog friendly and we can bring our dog! She is made very welcome by the staff and it is so nice that a table is laid in the lounge so that she can be with us at meal times. The hotel is immaculately clean, the lounge is comfy with squidgy sofas, the restaurant beautifully decorated and great food! The hotel was full - so pleased to see them doing so well! We will be back next year.

Centre of Ayr was only a five minute walk. Nice meal in the evening in nice bar area. Desk in room was small , not quite big enough for doing a bit of work in the evening.

Very friendly staff, reasonable bar prices, excellent quiet location. Electrical consumer unit in wardrobe was buzzing all night long. No hot water during the afternoon and the window was stuck open by dryed paint.

I have stayed at this hotel before in April 2010 and as I was entering Scotland via stranraer and travelling onto the north of Scotland it was an ideal stop over point. Incidentally I phoned and cancelled my booking at the Imperial hotel for sat 27/8/11, and was told that I would have to cancel it through you, as I was unable to access a computer until I got home at 21.00hrs on 27/8 that was an impossibility. I told the Imperial,Castle Douglas that.

The staff were very friendly & our evening meal was excellent, so good we cleared our plates which is unusual for me. Would have liked a sea view room. Also, in the morning when waking up there was a centipede crawling on the covers

The most lovely thing was the friendliness & willingness of all the staff to help & be hospitable at any time, & with every request.I Especially appreciated the attention of Craig the manager, in taking the trouble to personally bring me blankets, & sort out my lights in my room on my arrival. That was really great & a lovely welcome, as I was tired (& grumbly!) I never like too much food on the plate. I would have to say that the food was not great.

We enjoyed the cooked breakfast however do not feel it was worth £9.50 Unfortunately we did not read that some rooms may be attic rooms and we had one, there were a lot of stairs to climb!
