The breakfast was good.
But the staff was a little bit rude. I think a training should be provided on politeness with guests staying at the hotel.
Food was lovely as was location
The whole stay was a pleasure
The location was good, being on the coast.
Breakfast starts at 0730 and you cannot checkout before 0800 - unless you settle the bill the night before. This is a pain if you need to get away early. I was put in an attic room, which might be OK if you are less than 5ft 6" tall - I had to move around with my head lowered to prevent hitting the roof!
The welcome at check in and the wonderful food in the restaurant.
Access to the room was tricky with a number of staircases
Staff very friendly and helpful.nice atmosphere.food good.
I think as there was a wedding on while we stayed they need to look at giving the holiday guests I bit more consideration as we are paying guests also.
The helpfulness of the staff.
The room was small. The bathroom was very small too.
They accommodated my disability. Excellent location on sea front. Good clean room Excellent breakfast choice cold buffet and the choice of fresh cooked food as well. Staff were helpful, efficient, and friendly. Will recommend
Room a little cramped, however will still recommend
Lovely hotel and staff have been to the Horizon a few times breakfast and dinner are both really good we take our dog for an extra £5 a night which is great hope this helps you to decide.
Everything about the hotel was good. Ate at the restaurant on two occasions and the food was very good considering that I am hard to please when it comes to food. On the 1st night I had sea bass and on 2nd night steak and I cleared my plate on both occasions
Bath towels were too small
Food was very good . well presented, hot and very reasonably priced. Hotel was spotlessly clean and looked as if it had just been refurbished. Staff were very welcoming and accommodating. Close to shops and uninterrupted view of sea. No complaints. Would go back.
Pity the hotel had car parks on two sides but at least this meant there was no shortage of parking !
The hotel was well maintained and run, the staff were helpful and polite also the room had excellent veiws with quality furnishings.
Great view of the sea. Ideal location. Staff friendly and helpful. Food good.
Feel it was over priced for the rooms.
Friendly, attentive staff. Nice, modern room.
Staff all pleasant and helpful, nice quiet place.
Bedroom could have been cleaner.
Most things really
Only thing i can think of is this stay the room was smaller than the one we had last time and we were struggling for space to put the dog's bed into.
We loved the cooked breakfast rather than the buffet as it was lovely and hot served on hot plates. The young man serving us in the dining room for breakfast was so nice, nothing was a bother to him.
I cant think of anything we didn't like and this was our first time at the Horizon. We visit Ayr a lot and we will be back at the Horizon again. Thanks for a nice stay.
our room was at front of hotel and had great view of the sea. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good food. Hotel very comfortable
Felt that it was overpriced for the style of rooms.
The hotel could do more to controll the noise made by guests during the night especially at 2 and 3 am. The noise from the hotel's own car park was out of controll and no one tried to quieten it down so that outher guests could sleep
We had our wedding here and all the family stayed for the occasion. Staff couldn't have made our stay any better, very friendly and accommodating. Would definetly stay again. Views of the sea front were just amazing.
The location is fantastic weather was good when we were there which helped. The staff are lovely and very friendly and helpful.
Bed was not the best it was 2 singles joined to make double. Room was bit small but spotless clean.
All of the staff were friendly polite and efficient 100%. Food excellent cannot fault in anyway. I had my dog with us and it is lovely to go to dog friendly hotel that is immaculate.
location, staff very friendly and very helpfull, meals were very good (good Chef) rooms lovely and clean. very nice bar area very comfortable. All round great weekend and we will be back
Loved the excellent location, close to shops and restaurants. Great having access to free wifi , enjoyed being close to the sea. Very helpful staff. Great breakfast , catering for vegetarian options, nothing too much trouble Loved the downstairs , stylish , clean and comfortable. Liked the parking on site however this was blocked off for a wedding in the hotel which meant that we couldn't always park on site.
SIze of the room was very small with an ensuite shower room that was so small you couldn't walk past the toilet without side stepping it. The electric shower was woeful , only sending a small under pressured trickle of warm water. Not relaxing at all.Our room was not comfortable with space a real issue. The decor both in the room and the shower space was tired and needed a make over. We really think that the Horizon needs to upgrade the bedrooms to the same standard as the dining area. Maybe lessen the number of bedrooms and increase floor space and spec then there is a 4 star hotel just waiting to burst out!
