Nice location and feel of hotel. Only person in gym
Too many drunken revellers kept knocking our door and girls sick in public toilets and screaming in corridor. Room quite small. Check if there is a function on before you stay. Staff never asked drunken guests to move from corridor or stop screaming just stood and ignored everything as if they are used to it.
Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The staff were helpful and professional.
Restaurant expensive and lacking in intimacy. The room was small and in need of refurbishment; exposed wiring and dented and chipped paintwork. TV was oldstyle and not fully working-couldn't get channel 1. over priced for the state of the accommodation; I wish I had booked the bed and breakfast nearer to Winslow. It was a poor choice for a birthday celebration.
Waiting to check in, Waiting to be seated, waiting for my order to be taken, waiting for the meagre portion; then being phoned twice in my room to be accused of not opening an account despite doing this at check in! The Manager of the dining room is rude and has clearly never heard of customer service!
The food and service were excellent.
Bed was too soft and kept losing wifi connection.
The facilities were good, the room was comfortable, if a little small, a couple would have found it cramped. The radiator was good, and I was able to control the temperature in my room. The food was good, the pool was nice.
It is a shame that there is no whirlpool or hot tub in the leisure centre. I had to request Wifi each evening. It was also never suggested that I would have to book a table for dinner, however, it is best to do so. It is also a very big hotel, if you leave something in your room by mistake, it may be a very long walk to go back for it.
Good location for Leighton Buzzard and Milton Keynes stations, good parking.
lots of talking until late from next door twin rooms. Doors banging shut at all hours. If you get up early be prepared for a cold shower. There are some great food pubs locally so I'd avoid the hotel food, I didn't think it was possible to mess up a Burger but apparently so.
Reception service Food
Wi fi connection was poor Shower in room was not hot or very powerful
Price Staff friendliness / competency Cleanliness and comfort of the rooms.
Check in area was congested and it took a bit too long for my liking.
The bed was comfortable & room was lovely & warm on available
The pool was so cold & think the food it over price Wi-Fi did keep unconnected & What with old box TV & only 5 channel.
Old part of house was beautiful. The rooms were like a maze but signposting was good.
The length of time it took to serve me at the bar and the length of time it took to deliver me an omelette to my table (they were not busy)
The breakfast was ok
When checking in we were lost among wedding guests and it took over an hour to be served, our room was poor, smelled badly of stale/damp air, the bed and pillows were awful, bathroom was grubby, finding our room was an adventure to say the least! Breakfast was ok although we waited a fair while to be seated, hardly slept with loud clunking noises and party guests trotting up and down until god knows what hour, will never stay here again. Will just opt for a travel lodge or similar at half the price.
Spacious clean room . Good breakfast.
Very overpriced restaurant with limited menu.
Friendly welcome. Lovely "catch of the day" very well cooked and tasty. Great breakfast Location Gym, pool and sauna.
doors a bit thin.. entertaining noises from young couple across the corridor... They were obviously having a very good time. Difficult to find room arriving tired after a long day. Bar prices!!!
extrenely small rooms - I think premnier Inn rooms are bigger
Grounds and staff
It is a large hotel, to reach our room was quite a challeng. Avoid rooms with numbers of 500 + Wine in the bar was expensive at £7.60 a glass. Large conference hotel !!
The main building was nice and the setting
Our room was apauling it was more like a poor 2 star motel room. the wallpaper was hanging off the ceiling the decor was 1980's dated as was the furniture and the very large old fashioned tv. The bathroom was digusting all black around the bath and tiles. The door handles were once gold now all peeled off. The room felt old and dirty the windows was so high there was no view as described when I book. the room was definately not a 4 star and we were not pleased at all. had I know the quality of the room I would never have booked it and will never go there again.
Restaurant was good for dinner and breakfast. Staff there very helpful. Main building bar was pleasant for after dinner drinks ... A long way to walk!
Room was small and we had to walk a long way with luggage to reach it. Very busy place with weddings and meetings so access to public rooms restricted at times during our stay. Wi if is free but need to check if voucher is for full stay or you face a trek back to reception for subsequent days.
Deceptive marketing, lovely old house, but thats just reception, after that its a big 'faceless' training hotel. Rooms very small and black stains in the bathroom. Bathroom extraction on all night and kept me awake. Breakfast waiter was actually eating, had his mouth full as he served our table!
Main part of hotel.Adequate parking.Hotel grounds/gardens
Bedrooms in additional/extensions.Superior rooms not superior.Breakfasts only rate a standard level.
free wifi nice pool great barman
check in staff was in training and made it difficult - should be better trained before messing up with customers also vodafone signal non existent in accomm wing
Look of original House Gym, pool, sauna, garden & grounds
Beautiful building and area
8 pounds for a cheese board with 3 crackers. Asked for some more crackers got told that I've got more than most. Lol . We left early didn't feel welcome and far too expensive
We had a good memory of staying in the hotel with a beautiful garden and country ,landscape surrounded. Lots of resource. Although the facility is a bit old, but has a value for money and a more luxurious. We would like to come again.
Can be noise if you have noisy neighbour. Easy to get lost inside.
Area,walks, swimming pool,
The setting and the historical loo of the hotel.
Size of the room considering we're given a double executive as they'd run out of doubles. Booked via booking.com for 2 adults and a child. Our son had to sleeping the floor. Tried to charge us £15 each for breakfast the next day!
