Cleanliness, friendliness, bright and airy rooms. Fantanstic breakfast. Warm welcome
We have stayed at the Barton before and when we try to book for Torquay the Barton always seems to be no vacancies this time we were lucky very nice and friendly B&B
happy/friendly service clean and warm great food
everything was great
The room was clean and warm with a comfortable bed. Andrew the owner was a lovely man and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was lovely. I have no complaints and I will certainly be visiting again.
Couple who ran the hotel were really friendly and helpful. When we arrived we were given a choice of rooms which was really nice
Breakfast was amazing as were the hosts and the room facilities.
Windows were quite thin so the seagulls in the morning were loud but that's it.
Very convenient location making it an ideal position for the town centre and bus station. Ideal for short stays in the earlier months of the year when the weather dictates your options
Would not be very ideal for anybody with walking difficulties due to quiet steep steps up to the front door and upstairs bed rooms.
Very friendly and helpful staff, lovely room and comfortable super-king size bed. Handy location and excellent breakfast. Thoroughly recommended.
Good, welcoming owner. Easy to walk into town. Parking was good. Breakfast was great. Really clean and well kept. Comfy.
Bed was massive but still enough room in the room. Loads of Tea and Coffee to make yourself more than one drink. Really clean and is great location.
Advertises parking, which it has, and was free but not at the Hotel so we weren't sure what we needed to do.
Everything was clean and nicely decorated, the bedrooms and ensuite were lovely, the breakfast was great. Only a short walk down to harbour, shops and restaurants. Owner was very friendly and helpful. We got free parking close by. Would definitely recommend it.
The location was ideal for us as we had booked to see a show at the Pavilion Theatre. Just far enough out of town to miss all the noise from the pubs etc. Would definitely go again.
have stayed at the barton three times, good location excellent breakfast, very clean and comfortable friendly hosts will go back again
This hotel is the cleanest friendliest hotel I have stayed in for a long time. Nothing too much trouble. Would recommend and will stay again.
Location was very good, very nice clean and spacious rooms, breakfast was excellent, owners were very friendly and helpful.
Parking space behind the property was limited but extra parking was available free about 100 metres away
The owners are exceptionally friendly and will do anything for you. If you require anything different for breakfast they will accommodate you
The only downside is the fact that there is not a lounge for the visitors to relax in and possibly have a drink
Loved hotel . Andrew is so friendly helens breakfasts are lush . Cant fault anything . Stayed there twice cant wait to go back . Definitely recommend this wonderful hotel .
We were able to have our dog in the room.
We were business visitors and this was a fairly random booking that turned out to be much more than we expected. The hotel itself was what you would expect of a good seaside B&B. The rooms were small but comfortable, the bathroom had a powerful shower, the beds were comfortable and it was quiet. Everything was very clean. The location could not have been better for the marina and good restaurants. The bonus from our perspective was that the owners were so kind and accommodating. We were there for two nights and during the day had work to do. We were able to have a very busy and productive day in the ‘office’ – their breakfast room - which they allowed us to use all day. They also kindly provided pots of tea at intervals, which was over and above what was expected. Their free wifi was invaluable too. Breakfast is between 0815 and 0900 which is on the late side for a business start, but they kindly prepared breakfast for us at 0800 on the day we left – a good, hearty ‘all-English’ fare. As long as you are not expecting anything too glamorous I would definitely recommend this B&B as the perfect spot to explore Torquay and I wouldn’t hesitate to return there myself should the need arise. If there is space after such a positive review!
I have no complaints. I would note, however, that the parking space at the rear of the hotel is 'challenging' and if your car is bigger than a Ford Focus you should call in advance to check.
we visted hotel barton as part of a 5 day week away for our anniversary . met mike on arrivial he was very helpful even helping with our luggage room was clean and airy and very spacious. breakfast was excellent quality and had a great range on offer.
the only down side was one or two nights we had some rowdy people coming in and woke me up but other than that excellent stay
