Loved hotel . Andrew is so friendly helens breakfasts are lush . Cant fault anything . Stayed there twice cant wait to go back . Definitely recommend this wonderful hotel .
We were able to have our dog in the room.
We were business visitors and this was a fairly random booking that turned out to be much more than we expected. The hotel itself was what you would expect of a good seaside B&B. The rooms were small but comfortable, the bathroom had a powerful shower, the beds were comfortable and it was quiet. Everything was very clean. The location could not have been better for the marina and good restaurants. The bonus from our perspective was that the owners were so kind and accommodating. We were there for two nights and during the day had work to do. We were able to have a very busy and productive day in the ‘office’ – their breakfast room - which they allowed us to use all day. They also kindly provided pots of tea at intervals, which was over and above what was expected. Their free wifi was invaluable too. Breakfast is between 0815 and 0900 which is on the late side for a business start, but they kindly prepared breakfast for us at 0800 on the day we left – a good, hearty ‘all-English’ fare. As long as you are not expecting anything too glamorous I would definitely recommend this B&B as the perfect spot to explore Torquay and I wouldn’t hesitate to return there myself should the need arise. If there is space after such a positive review!
I have no complaints. I would note, however, that the parking space at the rear of the hotel is 'challenging' and if your car is bigger than a Ford Focus you should call in advance to check.
we visted hotel barton as part of a 5 day week away for our anniversary . met mike on arrivial he was very helpful even helping with our luggage room was clean and airy and very spacious. breakfast was excellent quality and had a great range on offer.
the only down side was one or two nights we had some rowdy people coming in and woke me up but other than that excellent stay
location was good staff friendly plenty of options for breakfast value for money
Clean rooms Lovely family run Good breakfast
All of it! Wonderful staff made me feel very welcome. Would e Definitely return.
All of it, excellent breakfast. This was a return visit as we liked it so much the first time (about 3 weeks earlier, I think)
The breakfast scored 10+. Really nice hotel in great location. Very friendly vendors and spotlessly clean. Does have wifi but I couldn't get on to it, didn't really matter as I have my own anyway.
Nothing I can think of.
Nice warm welcome. Lovely room very clean. Well cooked breakfast. Great location, ample parking. Would recommend.
The hotel.is excellent and Andrew and Helen are lovely. The breakfasts and cleanliness were excellent plus any problems, sorted out straightaway. (Borrowing a hairdryer). Would definitely go back
The steps to the hotel were a little difficult and, steep. (I have slight cerebral palsy). Knowing that I would take flatter shoes next time. Would definitely go back.
Staff, cleanliness, lack of hotel control at breakfast.
Exceptionally loud gulls, still very loud when windows closed. Departure by 10am very early, especially on Sunday. This is a fault with 'hotels' of this kind throughout country, not good.
the hosts were lovely and most helpful and friendly will definately stay again if I go down to that area again the breakfast was fantastic and portions were more than ample. the rooms were all one needs without the frills
lovely people, nothing was too much trouble...breakfast exellent also
The staff were very helpful..especially as we arrived late.
I had a good sized room with en suite facilities. The room was immaculately clean and comfortable. The owners are friendly and not at all intrusive. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone contemplating staying in Torquay. A very pleasant stay indeed. Thank you
Everything was either to the standard I expected, or exceeded my expectations. I've got nothing negative to say at all.
the furniture, decor and fittings.
Friendly and welcoming hosts, clean and comfortable. Lovely breakfasts
Amazing place, Helen and Andrew make your stay so special!! 7th time there and still love it!!
The breakfast is amazing full English or a few other cooked breakfasts like egg on toast... But breakfast time could be longer as they only go from 8.15-9
Hills, steep steps
We had a lovely comfortable clean room, walking distance from town. Smashing breakfast every morning, Andrew and Helen were superb hosts which made our stay excellent.
clean and comfortable
b/fast only availble between 8.15 and 9.00..no offer of an alternative just told no chance my wife will do it .so basically paid for b and b and only got bed ..hotel barton youve just missed out on us taking up 4 rooms all week from now till end of jan ..to many hotels in torquay to be so unflexible ..what a shame you couldnt see it .thanks for nothing your letting yourselfs down in what would have been a great place to stay for me and my collegues
Owners are very attentive Rooms are well appointed. Five minutes from harbour Fantastic breakfast.
Entrance is quite a few stairs from street level.
Andrew & Helen were very welcoming, always cheerful. Full English breakfast was cooked to perfection and HOT! Room was small but comfortable and very clean. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly go again.
The noise from the road was very loud until the early hours! The hotel is on a very steep hill and has lots of steps to climb which is quite hard when you're of a certain age!
