With just 9 rooms, your hosts, Andrew and Helen, offer a friendly, personal service and great attention to detail. All of the rooms have en suite shower rooms, hospitality trays and TVs with Freeview digital channels.

This small hotel is located on a road leading from the harbour, just 300 metres from the town centre and Torquay’s beaches. The town has many bars, cafes and clubs to suit all tastes, as well as a wide variety of shops. A short walk away, you will find the South West Coast Path and several beautiful beaches. The theatre is also within easy walking distance. Many local attractions are only a few minutes away, including Torquay Museum, Living Coasts and Babbacombe Model Village.

Hotel Barton is a non-smoking hotel; however, smokers are welcome to smoke on the front terrace.

Food & beverage

Breakfast is served between 8.15 & 9.00am (earlier breakfasts are available by prior arrangement). Sit and relax in our sunny breakfast room. From a full English breakfast (veggie option available), to fresh fruit and cereal, we will try to make your breakfast a pleasure. We regret we do not serve lunch or dinner. Takeaway lunches can be made to order for a small additional charge.

Travel information

By Car
- On reaching Torquay, follow signs for the sea front and harbour.
- Turn left at the sea, drive past the Princess Theatre, bearing left at the small roundabout.
- At the next roundabout (Clocktower roundabout by Debenhams) turn left into Torwood Street, which becomes Babbacombe Road (A379) after 100 yards.
- Hotel Barton is on the left-hand side opposite Torwood Gardens, around 300 yards from the harbour.

Limited parking is available to the rear of the hotel (access from Museum Road). Additional parking is available in the local pay and display car park (150 m). Free passes are available for guests at weekends and throughout the summer season. There is also free on-street parking, between 16:00 and 10:00 in front of the hotel.

Important information

Please note that the hotel is located on a hill and has no lift, so may not be ideal for less able guests.

Please note that we do not accept group booking (3 or more rooms) unless it has been agreed with the hotel. Same-sex group bookings are not permitted in the hotel (hen and stag nights).
