Dinner at hotel was superb and very good value. Breakfast choice was excellent. Handy walk from town. Good parking.
Noise from corridor door banging at night and other doors.
other travelers staying there
food, room, hotel was dirty dingy, smelly
Friendly staff Great restaurant with good deals and a good childrens menu, which we all thoroughly enjoyed. The bedroom was big and spacious despite having a king double and two single beds. Bathroom was big and clean. Close to Callender House and gardens, we could just walk in to these.
Room was hot and was difficult to get adequate ventilation. Bedroom need a deep clean, as was a bit tired.
Dinner was good & excellent value. Breakfast also good, lots of parking, not far from town centre. Staff very helpful. Room comfortable.
Wifi was out most of the time- big problem for someone needed to be in contact with family & work. Group of young people there fairly noisy.
When we arrived the lady at the desk was extremely welcoming. She showed us the way to our room and wished us a good stay. The room was spacious and well equipped with hairdryer, tea coffee and complimentary toiletries. Breakfast was good with lots to choose from.
There was some black marks on the pillow case which looked like mould marks.
The staff were incredibly warm and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. I had a great nights sleep. Thanks!
excellent staff, clean room with good fecillity ,very good toilet and shower room, nice breakfast..very good atmosphere...
We stayed there for a very busy night of the Games. It was an easy journey from Glasgow and it all worked well.
Very pleasantly surprised when we entered the building, it has a lovely large seating area with a bar that does great coffee. Check in was quick and when we entered our room it was of a good size with the biggest double bed we've seen, and although the mattress seemed very firm we had the best nights sleep. The breakfast options are good with 2 of us having full english and all 4 of us agreed the food was delicious. A special mention to all the staff we had contact with from the front desk, bar, breakfast and cleaning staff all so so friendly and helpful cannot praise them enough.
Good location. Friendly service. Breakfast was very quick and allowed us to get an early train to the Commonwealth Games.
Don't expect views from your room!
The staff were first class and the dinner menu is amazing value for money at £10 for 3 substantial courses.
We had to wait quite a while to be served in the packed dining room - due no doubt to the amazing value for money menu on offer!!
Well appointed rooms and spacious too. Excellent breakfast.
We have stayed here before on several occasions, which says it all. However on this occasion there was a problem with the electrics in my daughter's room. The hotel was full so she had to stay put. The staff couldn't have been more apologetic and helpful with extra lamps. Also, my husband left his camera in a drawer and a member of staff telephoned me to let me know it was there. Thank you.
The rooms were big, although maybe needed updating. Friendly staff, good breakfast.
a little noise from other rooms and corridor
Staff very friendly, rooms had everything you need and food is very good
Some of the fixtures in the room need fixing
Great choice of breakfast. Staff could not do enough to help you.
Some fixtures were a bit tired. Not a great view
this was the only hotel in the whole of Glasgow area that had not greatly inflated their prices for the games. It didn't look very good from outside or the website pictures, but it was so much better inside. Clean, comfortable, with lovely staff. Nothing was a bother to them, which I feel is an indication of good management. the breakfast was superb, the £10 dinner was great
The walls were paper thin, ok the first night when the occupants turned everything off at 11.30, not good the 2nd night when the room was occupied by drunken lads wanting to talk at the tops of their voices
The staff were enthusiastic, cheerful, courteous and helpful. It is refreshing to find an establishment where every member of staff displays a desire to do a good job! The room was clean, comfortable and provided all that was required for an overnight stay. The dining facilities and meals were excellent.
Clear signage indicating location of reception required. Road noise was a bit intrusive particularly as the evening/night was warm requiring a window to be open.
I would write a review about the Hotel but we didn't stay at the Hotel as we were up graded to another hotel nearby as they had to shut off the water to part of the hotel they had phoned to tell me about this. but I had only put my land line number on the booking form, but I was already in Scotland so didn't find out until I tried to check in. Thanks for the effort you made and the up grade will try again.
Very comfortable bed, good nights sleep.
No WiFi, nowhere to hang towels apart from side of bath, no wardrobe or drawers to unpack. Why do you advertise breakfast from 6.30 when hot food wasn't ready until 7am
Friendly welcome. Good location.
Noisy. Very poor shower. Wi-fi very fragile
Excellent value, well placed for rail travel into Glasgow, although the 15 minute walk to the station is all uphill...hard work after a good cooked to order full breakfast
Friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Restaurant
Tired bedroom decor. Smell of food in bedroom and corridor. Provision of soap and towels during stay, removed part used soaps and did not provide new.
Staff were great, service very good, absolute value for money, nice location
Outside appearance almost put us off before we entered the hotel.
Friendly staff Tea tray and biscuits Down stairs facilities were fine
No hairdryer in mine nor daughters room. Rooms and corridors need upgrading. Bathroom grubby, cup in room dirty. Noisy because of disco and someone vacuuming at 5 in morning. Cost was not reflected in accommodation and can only assume was inflated because of games in Glasgow.
