Hotel Edward is a friendly 3-star hotel in Westminster, close to Paddington Station and Hyde Park. Rooms have private bathrooms and come with basic modern amenities. The centrally located hotel is a convenient, budget base for London, not far from Oxford Street for excellent shopping. The staff is helpful and professional, and the front desk is open 24 hours a day. Around the hotel are many bars and restaurants, and London's West End entertainment is easy to access. It is a very smart and comfortable hotel in a fabulous location, easy for travel via Paddington Station. The tv in our room didn't work, and the breakfast is very basic (a choice of brown bread would have been good!), but otherwise a very good hotel.

It was clean, modernised to a very good standard and had all the facilities you would need for your stay in London. It was very close to Paddington station, as we travelled up by train and the hotel was less than five minute walk from the tube station, so no time and money wasted travelling in from further out areas. Staff were very friendly and helpful and there were luggage storage facilities available, so we didn't have to cart everything with us all day. This was our nicest stay in London up till now and would definitely stay again, if the price was right. Disruption due to building work in the hotel, though they work hard to keep the disturbances to a minimum. This resulted in no breakfast being available, though there were eating places very close to the hotel. No lift available, a bit of a pain as we were on the third floor and had to drag cases up the stairs.

I liked the reception staff they were always very friendly and helpful The room was extremely small and wasn't cleaned very well. The dust on the walls, furniture and windowsill was very noticeable and I wasn't happt with it at all.

The hotel is within a minute's walk from railway/tube station, the location is also good for Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. The staff are very helpful. As a solo traveller I felt safe and secure. The room was not as tiny as it would usually be in a British hotel and overall very tidy. Would definitely be back! There is no cafe/bar on board, not even a snack machine which is inconvenient if you prefer to have breakfast in the hotel, but there is an Ask restaurant opposite the hotel if you fancy Italian food and a Cafe Nero a bit down the street.

Hotel decor was extremely pleasant. Although the room was small, it was nice clean and had all the requirements for a quick weekend stay. The bed was comfy, great location to Hyde Park, Hard Rock and numerous other locations. Great access to Paddington Station and Lancaster Gate tube station/Bus stop

We chose this hotel because it was only a short 15 minute walk to the Paddington underground station. The price was fair. The room was clean and updated, modern looking. The bathroom was also clean and modern. The rooms were tiny, only one person could walk through the door way at a time and only one person can be in the bathroom at a time. The shower was also very small, when taking a shower I almost felt suffocated with the water pressure. We tried checking in 45mins early and the room wasn't ready which was fine, but when we asked if they could hold our bags they said it would be a 10 pound charge per bag. Which is pretty ridiculous. So we had to lug our luggage around with us for another 45mins. Besides that it was a fine stay. No problems.

Being near Paddington Station was very handy! It was easy to get an overland train to take day trips from London, and the tube station is right on the Circle line which connects to all the major sights. The room was tiny, but the furnishings are high quality. The staff is very uninformed. Many of the front desk workers seem to have just arrived in the city and didn't know the area very well. They couldn't even tell us the best way to get to Heathrow on our last day! (We found out about the Heathrow Express train from Paddington ourselves.) It was also disappointing that breakfast wasn't included.

Recently refurbished, the room was spotless. Though the bathroom was tiny, it was full of neat things: bidet, touch sensitive mirror light, choice of ceiling showerhead or hose, and fantastic underfloor heated tiles. The double bed was clean and comfortable, the bedside lights a combo of subdued lamp and reading light on a stalk (another thoughtful touch). The essentials were all there: tea and coffee, hairdryer, soaps and shampoos, and a decent sized flatscreen tv. On check-in, the receptionist was welcoming and friendly. Was travelling on business and I stay at many hotels in London, so I can suggest two things were significantly missing: wifi, and free of charge luggage storage - £5 per bag charge spoils the overall value and the feelgood factor about this otherwise excellent hotel. Perhaps a concession for business travellers or regular customers would be better.

Proximity to Paddington Station and 2 Tube lines, also a wide range of services available nearby. Hotel is reasonably quiet. I stayed at the same hotel in Feb '11 and Oct '11. Since then, the price has gone up by 25% and breakfast is no longer served, so I felt ripped off. Nowhere does the hotel inform you about the discontinuation of breakfast. The room is still clean but not as clean as it used to be. At this time I would recommend checking other nearby hotels because there are better deals to be had.

Location was excellent. Staff were friendly. Room was big and comfortable This hotel was not good value for money. Although the location was great, the room was very noisy, the furnishings were old and the room was not well cleaned. I had to pay extra for WiFi and to have my luggage stored for a few hours before check in. I have stayed in another hotel in the same location that was much better and was not as expensive

I spent there one night on my way from Heathrow to Bath, and it was good in terms of price/value. The room was not big not small, clean and equipped with everything necessary. Don't expect any special services for this price - there is nobody to help with luggage, and they charge additional money for WiFI, luggage storage (which you will have to put in storage place on your own after paying 5 pounds)

The rooms were smarter than I was expecting and the check in/check out times were very convenient for the timings of our visit. The bathroom was 'bijiou' and brushing your teeth meant bumping your elbows into the shower/wall that said everything was very clean etc. and for the price it was completely reasonable.

Very good location - 300 meters to metro stations (Paddington or Lancaster). 300 meters to Hyde Park. 300 meters to railway station Paddington. Very nice and helpfull staff. Clin room. You can buy the breakfast just 15 meters from the hotel. Small room (as usually in London). Not breakfast in the hotel - but you can buy good sandwich 15 meters outside of the hotel.

Location is excellent and is literally just a stones throw away from paddington station Late checkout was available for us We arranged our weekend around seeing the sights on the Sunday of our checkout, however this was not possible due to us nit being able to leave our bags in their luggage room while we did this , wich resulted in the day being wasted and having to sit in paddington station for five hours waiting for our train as we couldn't drag our luggage around London as I have recently had surgery. Thinking that we payed a big premium for the room just think this should have been made available to us

Friendly approachable staff. Great location for city break. Very clean - good strong shower - newly renovated. Good sound insulation. A bit hard to find initially - suggest giving directions from nearest tube station.
