The hotel has recently been tastefully refurbished inside with the bedrooms being extremely comfortable. Our family room was one of the largest bedrooms we have experienced at any hotel. It was also quiet with views over the adjoining golf course. Breakfast was between 8 and 10 am and was unhurried. The quality of the bacon and sausages was exceptional (courtesy of Pettits butchers of Grimsby) and by and large I think it was probably one of the best cooked breakfasts I've had in a hotel. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel and if staying in Grimsby again we would certainly make it our first choice.

Rooms overlooking the golf course were picturesque and much quieter than the Beeches my usual haunt . Hotel services are about the same , but the night manager should be able to be trusted with the spirits , sends a strange message to late arrivals. You put emphasis on your food but not sure the chef is up to your advertising. I would definitely go back and I have a lot of friends in Grimsby who wanted to know what it was like after the refurb, I was glad to say excellent.

The room was very comfortable, very clean, newly refurbished, LCD TV. The bathroom was equally clean with excellent facilities. The view was fantastic; a golf course, very green with trees and a few golfers in the distance. The included breakfast was more than you could eat and good quality. Excellent service from the staff in all areas. I stay there 3 times a year while I visit my family in Grimsby. I don't use the restaurant and bar as I visit a local pub. The hotel was built in the 60s and is quite dated from outside. But don't be put off, it's very pleasant from the inside.

Dont`t be fooled by the outside front of the hotel - this hotel has been totally refurbished inside (except for the stairwell and lift - to be done later I believe) - very tastefully done with designer colour schemes & matching furnishings - we had a room on 3rd floor with a balocony overlooking the golf course - you will not believe you are in the middle of Grimsby!! Definitely 4star standard and all at a bargain price including breakfast. Would stay here again anytime!

Lovely room overlooking the golf course. Delicious food at supper, breakfast and dinner. Kindness of hotel staff, especially in allowing us the use of our room until the following evening so that we had somewhere to change for dinner.

Best way to describe the hotel is surprising! It looks pretty unimpressive from the outside, but is quite impressive inside. It has recently been refurbished and the bedrooms are very good. The lighting needs looking at as it is a bit cold and unwelcoming. Breakfast was freshly cooked. All in all a pleasant surprise.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was light and airy and the food was good. The view over the golf course from all the bedrooms was very pelasant.. The UPVC window did not fit very well in our room and we could see daylight all along one side. As it was a very cold weekend, we had to keep the curtain over that bit.

Friendly reception - efficiently dealt with. Excellent, spacious, fresh- smelling room with new spotlessly clean bathroom and easy-to use shower. (Couldn't get wireless for some reason but wasn't too bothered!) Very quiet and comfortable. Great coffee for breakfast. (Not keen on the Lincolnshire sausage - but worth a try) Nice variety of fruits and cereals - well-cooked and presented breakfast with cheery, helpful staff. The lighting in the rooms is ok but could be a weeny bit more reader friendly.

I have stayed here several times in the last 10 years and found it an acceptable hotel for the odd night or two. This visit was again only for one night but I could have stayed for a week or fortnight's holiday. The refurb of the hotel is really good, the rooms look lovely and our's was spotless.the bed was very comfortable too. Breakfast was excellent the staff very efficient and polite. Receptionist was first class. I will recomend the hotel to any friends or family who are visiting grimsby in the future. Not applicable it was first class

My wife and I very much appreciated the helpfulness of the staff when checking in/out as well as when dining. The meals were of very good quality and our room very warm and comfortable. We liked having an open view over the adjacent golf course and it was a good feeling to be in a hotel that was obviously so popular with other visitors. We approve the hotel's current programme of up-grading - it is looking very smart and will probably look even better in 2012! Might we suggest that a floor lamp is placed in the room for better lighting where the chairs and table are located? There is very little (if anything) not to like about the hotel, but the reception area is somewhat away from the usual front location and we did inadvertently find ourselves initially in the wrong place!
