The new rooms were excellent. However, the front desk staff could do with some training about checking customers in and getting things right. I thoroughly enjoyed the stay however. Breakfast could offer a few more items, it was the same selection everyday. I will stay there again, it is a great property with an excellent location.

The new part of the hotel certainly gives value for money, the beds are really comfortable, loved the decor and once we had figured out how to work the heating we were warm. The only down side was the long walk from reception through the delapidated old part of the hotel in order to get to the lift for the new part.

What a bargain this hotel turned out to be! We stayed on a Saturday night and got free parking and breakfast included in the price. Fantastic location and its close proximity to the town centre - what a pretty place Kings Lynn is - the walk by the river coupled with the free museum and the local history (and pubs!) all near by made it a wonderful place to stay. Hotel refurbishment is almost complete and has been really well done. All the staff were very pleasant. Plenty of tables in the dining room and the breakfast was good value too.

The Dukes Head hotel is centrally located and is ideal for the short walk across car park to Corn Exchange etc. We were given room 200 which actually had a double and a single, the room was very clean and comfortable, the reception staff were very helpful and friendly, no complaints at all. Would highly recommend. Also note that you have to go to rear of hotel to find parking and make sure you get an access code to get out before you leave. The only downside we found was that after paying £50 for the room we felt that another £9.95 each for breakfast was excessive, we didn't take that option but instead had breakfast at Globe Hotel opposite which has a Weatherspoons and is open from 7a.m full english @ £3.10 per person plus bit extra for tea and toast, well worth it!

I liked the history of the building and its location. Although travelling alone I had a double room. The room was comfortable and was, I felt fair value for money. The breakfast was not good value for money. Not particularly tasty. So although the room was pleasant and decent value, the breakfast was a disappointment. The room service meals were nice enough, perhaps a bit overpriced.

Everything! The location is excellent. The renovations are spectacular and show a lot of thought. The service of the staff was great; reception were helpful, bar staff were pleasant and the guy managing the breakfast on his own (Andrew?) are all a credit to the establishment. If you going to Kings Lynn for a party think twice, but if you want a town which is clean and classy then this is the place for you. It is an excellent base for the surrounding countryside and The Wash coastline. I will be back!

The staff were courteous, friendly and efficiant. The only problem we had was that because we were on the first floor the music from a venue was very loud in our room. The receptionist did offer to move us to the fourth floor but it was too much trouble for my elderly mother who was already in bed by then. Otherwise we had a lovely stay in your hotel and I would have no hesitation in staying there again. Many thanks to the lovely staff. Regards, Pauline Connolly

Location excellent for visiting Norfolk/bird watching. Room in refurbished new part very good and would recommend highly. Didn't eat dinner in the hotel, found a lovely Bistro on the Quay, great quality and vfm. Originally booked for 1 night, stayed 3. Receptionist very remiss in not telling us about the very keen traffic wardens patrolling outside the hotel on the market square. Tip - take car around to the hotel car park immediately you arrive, don't take the receptionists word that the warden gives you 10 mins to check in!

We liked the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere of the hotel and very much enjoyed our stay. We will definitely be returning to the hotel for future stays. However, we did experience some unusual ghostly activity within our room and the stairwell area. However, we personally found it both amusing and exciting and will be returning for this reason. I didn't get along very well with the shower, it proved to be somewhat tempremental in it's temperature. Other than that, no complaints!

Since the re-furb, this hotel is now right up to date. Rooms are nicely furnished, great shower! Handy being in the centre of town. Ideal for shopping, sightseeing (not that I did any). Got good value for money booking late when room price reduced.

“The staff describe themselves in the brochure as a hard-working and committed group working together to produce a good stay for their guests. This is 100% accurate and we experienced the results of that - a very pleasant stay. The room was well appointed, the food was good and there was a spirit of generosity not often found.” Anthony, Edgware |
