Well decorated, friendly and helpful staff, good location, free and ample parking, great breakfast, good size room.
The bed was insanely comfortable Breakfast was lovely
lack of options on movie channel
The service, and that everything worked. Easy check in, a nice bar for pre-dinner drinks, with great range of drinks, good restaurant with professional service, very reasonable restaurant prices with good cooking, both a good quality reasonably priced wine list and one for special occaisions.Room was good size and comfortable. Easy free parking. Although cooked breakfast is extra £8, ( included is continental) the hot food we had was of excellent qulaity and well cooked, even the scrambled eggs which were creamy rather than dry.Simple but very nice grounds. Main block is the Victorian house with modern wings. But do not be put off by this as rooms are tasteful and very comfortable with good air con. that works and is not intrusive and controlled in the room.
We asked for a quiet room we got one at the end of one wing, but it was facing across grounds and fields to a busy road with low level traffic noise. Next time we go ( and it's so good we will be) we will ask for a room on other side of the block which faces across fields. Bathroom mirror needs a light over it and would be good if there could be a shaving mirror
Quiet location yet within a very short distance of city centre. Comfy bed good size room. Dinner good.
High tea Service Breakfast The bed
We stayed here for the night of our wedding and it was lovely. Very clean and comfortable. We also had lunch in the restaurant the next day with our family. I've eaten in the restaurant a few times before and it's always great. Very nice roast dinner!
It was extremely easy to get to from the A14. Lovely surroundings. High standard of cleanliness.
The service at breakfast was pretty awful. It seems the team went into melt down resulting in arguments between many staff and customers. Not good at all. The staff were in disarray. Service was beyond slow and to take it out on the customers was inappropriate (me and my friends did not suffer the rudeness but others did). It brought about a sour atmosphere. You have to pay extra for anything hot at breakfast which is a joke considering the cost of the room (the room didn't justify the cost alone) and then you have to wait forever for it!! When informing reception we just got a load of excuses when all we were after was a simple apology. In summary the hotel is a tad mutton dressed up as lamb.
Well decorated, comfortable room, friendly staff
Only continental breakfast includes Plus Breakfast service was very disorganised : took a long time, we got 4 other tables' orders before they got ours, they accidentally charged someone else breakfast to our room on top of our own! Small point: I had asked for gluten free bread in my booking - they didn't have any on the day. When I pointed this out at reception - they said they had plenty of gluten free bread...maybe they should pass on the info to the waiting and kitchen staff
Good room Friendly staff at check in and in the bar and restaurant
The water in the room was only HOT [red hot] Check out at reception was disappointing with a rather surly chap and no smiles!
Great, comfortable rooms. Dinner was sensational.
Was rather hot and windows did not open very far.
Everything was great
The bed we were given after we complained about the first room was very comfortable and liked the heated bathroom floor
For the price of £200 for a standard box room we thought was extortionate. My partner was not happy at all about the cleanliness of the room and how shabby things were so we complained and said we were unhappy. They moved us to a king room which was bigger but shabby. We wouldn't stay at that hotel again for the price. My partner rated the hotel as 1* compared to that in Dubai where he visits regular. He was quite disgusted and didn't want to stay the night but as it was 1.30am we had no choice. Also was not happy about the extra cost of drinks as the room was £200 and we had to pay extra for drinks in the fridge. Quite disgusting to be honest.
Generally it was what we expected so far as facilities & cleanliness are concerned.
The bar staff in the evening were incredibly rude, arrogant, childish and aggressive. Never known anything like it. We took 4 rooms and asked that all room charges be charged to just our room. This instruction, although confirmed in writing and at check-in was completely ignored. The place is a modern-day Faulty Towers.
Excellent location, good service, fair pricing
Very good decor and surroundings. Staff are first class.
Food was expensive, choice not great and portions, on the whole, were small. The exceptions were the breakfast smoked salmon and scrambled egg and coffee - both excellent value.

The bed was very comfortable
The food was good but a little overpriced.
It was excellent
Good food, nice restaurant, fine breakfast. Very clean. Well appointed rooms.
The staff were helpful on arrival and knowledgable about the best places to go sightseeing etc. Our bags were taken up to the room when we returned to the hotel which was great. The food was excellent and whilst the choice was limited it was because it was all cooked fresh.
I made the booking but it was a treat to be paid for by my sister but when I checked in the receptionist took a swipe of my card but processed it as a sale of £50 when my sister checked out the following day I was debited the £50 and she did not realise. I didn't have the heart to say but was cross as it spoilt the treat
It's near Cambridge but away from the bustle. Lovely building, relaxed atmosphere. Chic menu. Comfortable bed and spacious bedroom and bathroom.
Classy comfort. Good location just on edge of town. Quiet and understated.
