Hotel Hudson is located to outside Torquay town centre and is in easy striking distance of either the beach facilities, Babbacombe, Dartmoor National Park and other facilities and attractions. My reception at the hotel was very good and welcoming. The usual facilities of the hotel were explained in a pleasant manner and I was escorted to my room. There were the normal facilties in the room with a tv that carried most of the Freeview channels. I normally carry additional tea and milk because what is provided, at some hotels, is normally very basic however, at Hotel Hudson tea, milk and coffee provisions were more than sufficient for my needs. Although the car park to the rear is very small there is an overflow carpark, so off street parking is not a problem. Breakfast was very good with the full English breakfast arriving well cooked and presented and more importantly hot. I enjoyed my stay and can recommend this hotel to visitors to Torquay and surrounding area. None

Was very impressed from the moment I arrived as was not expecting such a high standard for such a small price. Hotel beautifully decorated, room very spacious and spotlessly clean, staff very pleasant indeed and always eager to help, breakfast freshly made to order with plenty of choice, location ideal as just a few minutes' walk from the main shopping centre and seafront. Will definitely be staying at the Hudson again next time!

It was really handy for the shops and local restaurants and everything was just a couple of minutes away, including the harbour. You could also park free at the Hotel or in a secure car park a couple of minutes away. The breakfast was done to order and was excellent and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. There wasn't any information about the hotel facilities in the rooms, such as what time breakfast was and what time you had to check out, when the bar was open or how to work the tv etc. There was plenty of info on taxis, buses, boats etc and the nearest airport, but I didnt need that. They could do with adding a bit about the aforementioned items instead.

excellent location fo a visit to torquay. However paid extra for a balcony on the first floor which was in very poor condition. covered in cigarette ends, and in need of some repair, with rotten balustrading and not at all substantial. only had one chair, however adding a second chair may have been dangerous the balcony, the shower room was very run down and no hot water from the basin taps.

The hotel was absolutely spotless. The proprietor was very pleasant and helpful, with the customers best interests at heart. I would certainly recommend this hotel. The breakfast was well cooked, of good quality in adequate portions and served in well appointed ans spacious surroundings. The bedroom, in which I stayed, was totally spotless and confortable, with windows which one could open for fresh air on the hot days of my visit. Breakfast could have been served from 08.00 instead of 08.30, but I accept that the majority of people probably visit for a relaxing holiday and for them it is adequate.I attended a conference.

The location and the staff The fact that there was no hot water from the sink tap no matter how long you hald it down and the cold beans on my breakfast, when I was going to ask for them heating there was no one around. I was not the only one with this complaint as all 4 sat at our table had cold beans. We will not go again nor will we dis you on trip adviser as you cannot reply to that.

Ideal location for town/getting about, good car parking around the corner which seemed secure enough. Room not as clean as could have been, bit disappointed with shower room, could have been cleaner/better maintained. Perhaps expected too much....

The hotel is situated about 5 mins walk to the centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful. When we couldn't get in to the Cantonese restaurant they suggested we got a take away and the staff had no problem in providing us with cutlery and plates. The breakfast was very generous with a full English on offer as well as cereal, toast, fruit and yoghurts. They were also happy for us to use their parking after we had checked out so we could check some more stuff out. No shampoo/conditioner/shower cap in the shower and no mushrooms on the breakfast. Other than that we can't complain.

Brian the owner was very friendly and made us feel welcome, the breakfast was good and the hotel was very clean. On the down side was the noise from the main street which we were on, the noise from drunken people as well as taxis continued on untill just before 5am, so broken sleep was all we had. Probably a room at the back of the hotel would have been quieter but location was excellent 5 mins to the harbour and shops.

A group of us stayed here for New Years and I must say it was great. Firstly the location is good just few minute walk to the bars, resturants etc. There is bowling opposite the hotel as well. The breakfast was good, you can help yourself to fruit, cereals, yogurts, toast and fruit juice, and can get a cooked breakfast fresh tea and coffee as well. The rooms were spacious and very clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful, if needed anything they were there to help. Overall this hotel was a good place to stay and if we come back to Torquay We will stay here again a nice small run hotel, thanks again.

Friendly staff, good location short walk to shops, pubs ect. Lovely rooms well designed and plenty of space. Parking could be improved although I was able to park near by with a permit given to me by reception, I would have felt more comfortable if I could of parked in hotel parking. We traveled with a big party of 5 cars and there was only available parking for 2 or 3.

The hotel was so close to the harbor and Brian who runs the hotel was very helpful. We had a room which opened on to the front verandah which saved our legs from the steps. Probably not suitable for older people with quite a few steps to the front. The breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked by Brian. The bed could do with a foam overlay as we felt the springs at night..

Firstly the nice warm welcome and relaxed atmosphere. Lovely lounge. We liked the fact that the room was clean and stylish with ample room both in the bedroom and the en-suite, with a lot of personal touches. The breakfast was "perfect" the cleanliness in this room was exceptional in every way and nothing was too much bother. Probably the best breakfast we have ever received (including dearer places we have stayed in). Absolutely nothing to complain about - a perfect place to stay - will be back!!
