All the staff and owner very helpfull and welcoming.
Just a little bit tired in places
Close to Marylebone, excellen breakfast, comfortable and a nice stay, thanks to the really friendly staff. Not the most luxurious hotel but, thanks to the atmosphere, I wouldn't hesitate to return.
Over-priced but so is everywhere in London and less so than other similar hotels in the area.
Friendly staff, location near shops and restaurants, nice side street
Very old and dated, needs updating, photos do not reflect condition, furnishings worn and stained, confusing layout, faulty lift, not value for money compared with other hotels,
Good friendly helpful staff.
Hairs (lots) in the bath from another guest. Appalling WiFi (if you need WiFi this is not the place to stay). Bathroom and room maintenance looks like it has been done by an amateur diy'er.
Location for my purpose, the fact that I've got a top room with stret view, wide bed even for single, nice breakfast.
As the rooms have double layer of windows, the outer window was left a bit open and as I cheked in after dark could not see that so it was very cold over the night and had to put on sweater and more covers. In the morning saw the cause....
Helpfulness of staff, location, breakfast.
Very very old hotel. Not clean at all. The bathroom is disaster. Room facilities is rabish. For suer I will not recommend it for any one and I will not do it again
helpfulness of staff location
bedcovers & other soft furnishings were dirty mean with the breakfast - one slice of bacon, 1 sausage??? having to carry suitcases up steep stairwell because lift didn't go to the next floor
very uncomfortable bed, noise, dirty wash basin
Location; good value; breakfast; friendly staff; large room
Shower not brilliant but otherwise overall great- going to stay again!
This is a small—VERY small—city hotel. If you want a room the size of Wembly Stadium, then stay at the Hilton. This is a classic, small, British hotel with an excellent included breakfast. Rooms are small but perfectly adequate. Staff, including management, are welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The La Place is also a wonderful bargain in a very expensive city. If all you need are a bed, a shower, air conditioning, and a good breakfast, the Hotel La Place is a good bet. If you plan to host a cocktail party for 100 in your room, look elsewhere.
Absolutely nothing. It was a very pleasant stay.
Very friendly staff! Location Clean Value for money
Feeling its age Wifi didn't work (on the 4th floor)
Staff welcoming and friendly. Breakfast, good choice and tasty.
room decor was tired and could do with painting. Shower needs good clean, signs of black mould
Friendly staff; great and spacious room; surprisingly cheap for such a great location. Will definiately be using this place again!
The wifi was not great - very weak signal; and needlessly complex password! Vegetarian breakfast was OK, but nothing special. I think the rest of the hotel unfairly raised my expectations!
The worst single room I've ever stayed in. Very small, very noisy, no sleep. Bed so small could not stretch my legs out. Bathroom ridiculously small. Could barely use toilet because sink overhangs it.
We had a most pleasant stay with excellent and friendly service from the manager and his staff; we take pleasure in recommending this hotel, with its superb locatation in one of the best areas of London.
There was nothing we didn't like.
I never felt so well hosted and welcome in my life , great stuff- team I supposed to fly back to my city in the 8th of the c.m. But I ve actually stayed one day more as I had the opportunity to do it plus felt very good inside the room inside the structure . Very good located and connected , I ll definitely come back there at next for sure . As regards : breakfast mostly of the time included in the price , well there I ve to say : " careful to Mrs mery who will make u laugh a lot lol kidding a part , guys if I can suggest a great acomodation for your long or short staying in London central w1 , have a look in the web site for this aewsone hotel . X
Comfortable room on the top floor, very helpful staff, good location and convient place for transfer to / from Stansted airport with shuttle bus as no need to take metro.
Very poor internet in my room (at the lobby it was perfect).
Very friendly staff, had a good sleep, very good location,
plastic flowers at the entrance, "strange" decorations in the hallway and staircase, an unpleasant food smell in the toilet of the room, breakfast served in a rather dark room downstairs.
Bad Wifi grubby decor badly maintained no money spent on this place for about 20 years they do not deserve the 4 stars staff are Ok but the hotel is just bad
nice and friendly stuff, atmosphere of London
very small room without refrigerator for high price, poor speed of Internet - talking through VOIP was problematic, switch to turn on the lights by bed turn on also all of the lamps in the room - very annoying that light can not be small
Location Friendly staff
Small dated room (single room) Poor wifi connection
Thick walls = quiet rooms Double glazed windows = quiet rooms The windows open for fresh air Air con if it's too hot Rooms smell fresh and clean The rooms are clean Beds are super comfortable The staff are really lovely, genuinely nice, friendly people who remembered me on my second stay English breakfast included and will bring to your room for 2 pounds extra Free wifi The locations is excellent for central london Relaxed atmosphere
The beds are far too comfortable and the rooms too peaceful, i overslept by 2 hours and almost missed breakfast. While the free wifi is appreciated, it's very slow, every time i have stayed here i have resorted to using my phone for internet access instead - however, this is the only things that i didn't like but these days, a decent internet connection is important.
The location is very convenient, close to metro station and a few stops from st pancras - Eurostar Very quiet, no disturbing noises at night
4 star ranking is very much exaggerated, it might have been a 4 star hotel in 1980's, urgently needs renovation to prove the price. Anticipate the breakfast time in advance, the capacity of the restaurant does not correspond to the number of hungry guests in the morning.
The location and the size of the property
The price was wayyyyyy to expensive. I would definetly not pay the money if the hotel was not in greater London. such a let down. we had a white bug in one of our beds (we had a family room with two beds) the manager said it can be a fly, how can a fly get inside the pillows?! The toilet had brown stains on it. I hope it was rust to be honest Over all defo not worth going there and not worth the price
