Clean, comfortable. Food reasonable. I would recommend it in certain circumstanes depending what the pwerson was looking for. Sot have not answered the question. It calls itself a bar with rooms. It will never achieve that status until it makes the bar visitor friendly. It looks and feels like what itis - a bar in a hotel.

Convenient location in the centre of Belper with free parking. Room didn't have double glazing despite facing the main road through Belper. Room was pretty basic and didn't warrant the price. No chair in the room. Whilst there is free Wi-Fi the signal is poor and couldn't be picked up by my phone on a consistent basis. Breakfast is not included in the price.

The staff were very friendly an helpful, the room was airy an the bed was comfy also the shower was great. The hotel is ideally located right on the a6 an only a 2 minute walk to the town centre an some really nice oldie worldie shops. The house keeping at the hotel leaves a lot to be desired as the carpets in our room an the section of the hotel did not seem to have been hoovered. In the room we stayed in my other half dropped something on the floor an picked up alot of hair off of the floor along with what was dropped. We did mention it to reception an we were told it would be passed on to house keeping an the receptionist did say she would go fetch a hoover, but we said we were only staying the 1 night so not to worry.

Large clean comfortable room. Only single glazing in room facing the street. Hence noise from traffic quite early in the morning. Only one real ale available.

We had a 90th birthday in their Arkwright Suite, and 4 of us stayed over as we'd travelled from Wiltshire and Kent. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The rooms were value for money. They are in the process of sorting out their showers - the holder is too high up the wall/pressure not man enough.

The hotel is undergoing refurbishment and is currently a 'mess'. This should be pointed out at the outset as I would not have chosen the venue

The staff were incredibly friendly and nothing was to much trouble. Our room was clean, comfortable and excellent value for money. The location was perfect for our needs and was Set in the beautiful village of Belper. The breakfast was delicious either full English or continental the choice is yours. I would certainly recommend the hotel to anyone looking for high quality on a budget. We will definitely use The Lion Hotel in the future such a beautiful part of the country and by far the friendliest people it has been my pleasure to meet. Well done to all the staff!

It was perfect for a night stop at sensible money. Only arrived late and checked out very early. Never had a meal or breakfast. Only that window did not close very well and noise form petrol station was a little irritating. Booked double and got two singles too.

Clean and comfortable but I would not describe the room(as the receipt did ) as a "luxury" one. Staff very pleasant and helpful. If I ever return toBelper I would stay there.

The staff were excellent and very friendly and The Hotel is in need of some serious updating, the rooms are very old and the decor is way out of date. It is a shame as the location is great for the Peak District but I will not be staying there again nor will I recommend it to my friends and family
