Clean and comfortable but I would not describe the room(as the receipt did ) as a "luxury" one. Staff very pleasant and helpful. If I ever return toBelper I would stay there.

The staff were incredibly friendly and nothing was to much trouble. Our room was clean, comfortable and excellent value for money. The location was perfect for our needs and was Set in the beautiful village of Belper. The breakfast was delicious either full English or continental the choice is yours. I would certainly recommend the hotel to anyone looking for high quality on a budget. We will definitely use The Lion Hotel in the future such a beautiful part of the country and by far the friendliest people it has been my pleasure to meet. Well done to all the staff!

It was perfect for a night stop at sensible money. Only arrived late and checked out very early. Never had a meal or breakfast. Only that window did not close very well and noise form petrol station was a little irritating. Booked double and got two singles too.

The staff were excellent and very friendly and The Hotel is in need of some serious updating, the rooms are very old and the decor is way out of date. It is a shame as the location is great for the Peak District but I will not be staying there again nor will I recommend it to my friends and family

The bedrooms were clean , but careworn. Your saving grace are your staff. They are professional and attentive Thank you so much to all who helped / served us The communal areas are filthy, Stayed Sunday / Monday - saw no cleaning and in fact It's clear that they are never cleaned. Filthy skirting boards, stair rails , carpets The cooked breakfast was overcooked, We were down towards the end of service, but as it was cooked to order I can't understand why . Also found it strange to eat my breakfast in the bar area - Wonderful location but could make more of it
