- Metro is just 5 minutes away - The staff is helpful and friendly - The surrounding neighbourhood is friendly
- The rooms were a bit small, so don't plan to stay in your room for too long - The beds are a bit short for people of 1,85m or longer - People are loud with doors in the morning
The hotel is not far from science and natural history museums. The breakfast is correct and good.
However, some of the staff of the hotel were friendly and seems embarrased due to horrible conditions of their hotel. Whereas, the owner of the hotel acted arrogant when told about the disgusting conditions of room & toilet. I will never ever even think of choose this hotel again to stay at.
Terrible room space, dirty & too tiny toilets as one cant even sit on comode. Too noisy rooms, bed matress was expired and painful. They dont provide remore controls of tv. Wall papers were damaged and lost their colours. No space that one can put clothes in wardrobe. No space to keep luggage ( plz check their room # 45) for confirmation on above comolaints.
Cleanliness , quiet location . breakfast decent enough
Rooms very small. £10 deposit for t.v remote.
very good location
room is small
Friendly staff Good wifi Comfortable stay
Tad cold but Is to be expected in a period building
The door to get out
The room was small with no opening window it was boiling hot in the room all night wasn't very clean and the bed was like concrete
Not clean. Stayed 3 nights and no cleaner seen, although the towels were changed. Food (breakfast) poor and ran out of eggs on last morning.
They served a nice little breakfast, all inclusive. The location was real close to the Earls Court station.
They were very untrusting. My daughter was going to pay with her cc but she was at her flat. I could not check in and bring her back. I had to leave my baggage in the lobby then go look for her flat, which I had never been to. I feel they could have trusted me for an hour or two.
No cooked breakfast
The room is at the back of the building and quite gloomy and wet and cold and small with two single beds. You have to use air-conditioner,but you need pay deposit for its remote firstly. The remote is very dirty. It is so terrible that we can't stay here for three nights as we booked before. Therefore ,after we checked in for the first night, we told the reception desk that we would no longer live here for another two nights. They answered it was no problem. Unfortunately,After we checked out the next morning, the hotel still charged us ￡280 for the other two nights without any words via my visa card. The receptionist in charge of checking in-out is an very unkind woman. She knew we were checking out, but she didn't gave us any reminders about their unreasonable rules on checking-out. Besides, the so-called English breakfast is very simple. Worst experience in this hotel and definitely no recommendation to others!
Space was good. Bedding and towel good
Bedroom covers very dirty Window curtain very dirty Bathroom needed a good clean A terrible smell coming from the bathroom at night Having to leave £20 deposit for TV remote control. Poor breakfast choice & poor standard of waitress service.
Reception manager was pleasent and refunded my money when I complained
Filthy, blood stained mattress with springs sticking out of it. Reception told us no more rooms available so had to sleep on the floor! In the morning the reception manager told us that there were two rooms available and came and inspected our bed. Refund was given
Excellent position close to tube and still in Zone 1. Good and helpful staff. Tried their best with cleaning. Fresh bedding. Toiliet/shower clean and relatively new. Nice and warm. Can't fault the position. Three mins walk from the Earls Court tube and lots of cafes, restaurants etc on the way. Staff were helpful and we've actually stayed in worse hotels than this.
The pictures are way, way out of date! Needs some (lots!) of cosmetic updating. Impossible to actually sit on the toilet in our room. Whole place needs some TLC. Things like door knobs missing, paper coming off walls and holes in carpets really do need fixing. If you look at the pics it looks fantastic but the wide angle lenses used do give a very false impression of size. We were hoping we'd finally found a good hotel at a reasonable price - but we're still looking!
It was quiet and clean, close to the Tube. The ladies prepared a decent breakfast in the morning.
Breakfast was good and healthy and staff helpful
Very noisy with doors slamming by other visitors. Decor needs update
Great location only couple of Mins away from Hyde park an bust stop right outside
The breakfast could of been better
More care should be taken with making customers feel welcome and comfortable. No help offered with luggage. Luggage was quite hard to get through the heavy doors. The bath was filthy and so my partner refused to take a shower in it. I took a shower but had to spend ages trying to get a comfortable temperature. The toiletries provided looked old and unsatisfactory. No hand wash to use in the toilet. Not enough space to even sit properly on the toilet for me (average sized male). Decor is dated, dark and dingy. At breakfast we were kept waiting for a table for quite some time. 'I'll be with you in a moment,' or something along those lines would have been nice to hear from the staff. When the tea came it had no milk with it.
Nothing but the position
Pretty much everything
Location friendly staff
Room was very small breakfast was poor you need to deposit 10£ to use the TV remote
The hotel Oliver was in a reasonably quiet are for central London and in a good location this is where the positives ended for me .
Upon check in we had to wait an unreasonably long time to be seen as reception was unmanned. After a 20 minute wait we were checked in and shown to our room. First impressions of the room were clean modern city hotel but on closer inspection we were extremely disappointed and discovered the bathroom was disgusting. There was hair, mould and green fluff all over the floor, the bath had hair in side the tub and on the edges however these were not the bathrooms biggest faults!! There were holes in the bath around the plug hole and none of the taps in the bathroom were marked hot or cold! After braving a shower and getting ready for bed we discovered the bed was about as comfortable as lying on a table and for all the sheets looked clean the room was cold as all that was provided was a sheet a thin worn woolen blanket and a cotton throw! After getting into bed t try and sleep we soon discovered the walls were paper thin and spent all night listening to doors slam people walking above us and the conversation of every staff member who walked past our door.I feel ripped off £100 a night is a joke I'd have been happier to pay £10 a night. I would never return to the hotel Oliver and needless to say we checked out very early the next morning without braving a shower.
Dirty basic not worth 170
Rude behavior, staff disrespectful, mould in the rooms, touching , moving private belongings in your room when you request NO ROOM SERVICE, not to be trusted, food very very poor. Rooms cold and wet. When asking why belongings are touched - when requesting no room service explicitly - you get attacked and shouted at BY LADY ON THE RECEPTION, no apology.
