No reading light next to bed
The staff were courteous and attentive. It is also a very interesting building.
The friendliness of staff. The breakfast and the location was excellent. The concierge in particular were very helpful and kind
Although we didn't have a bad experience the rooms need updating as for the price the hotel was tired and in need of updating. The beds were also uncomfortable along with the pillows.
The hotel is conveniently located a few steps from the Underground station.
Poor cleaning (we could not even see trough the windows). Very small bathroom with no sockets for hairdryer. Very expensive breakfast (which we didn't eat there). Definitely not value for money.
The hotel room was very spacious and very good size for the money. Excellent location right next to Russell square tube station! All staff we spoke to were very helpful and friendly. We arrived at 11.30am and was able to check straight in as our room was ready!
Couldnt use shower due to spraying from top of shower head but was happy to use the bath anyway!
Staff was super nice, very good and central location, very, very good room. And the price for this all was just too good.
Signage in hotel dreadful
very convenient, clean , staff were helpful. Didn't sample food as like eating out.
room was on first floor very noisy at night due to traffic but they moved us without any question to 4th floor when i asked .
old style building. spacious room
rooms not double glazed, so traffic noise (at front) was significant. Also frequent squeaking/scratching noise from next door/ducting woke us up several times. would recommend however
We very much liked the fact that it was well located and had a metro stop next to it. The staff was friendly and welcoming.
The building is quite old and the isolation is not good. It can be quite noisy and cold in the night. We had to ask for a heater as the windows were very old in our room and it got cold in the night. Otherwise nice hotel.
The building itself, pleasant staff and very comfortable room with many amenities.
Wifi Huge bathroom comfy bed
Some noise out the back from generators
First impressions of a very smart hotel. Door staff we're welcoming and helpful A very friendly reception by all staff on duty Lovely breakfast
The lifts are rather small and inadequate for the size of hotel and number of guests
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great location! Rooms were wonderful!
Very near the tube and staff very friendly and professional Deluxe room large and comfortable and bed very comfy
The bathroom was on the small side and the shower temperature kept fluctuating.
Great attention from staff, polite enthusiastic and engaged at all times Comfortable over sized bed for a laugh and excellent ensuite
I always think it a pity hotel kitchens put food out en masse to be kept warm by heaters I had to reorder chips that were hot and fresh not tepid and chewy
Great value, location and comfortable room.
Location, beautiful building. Underground steps away, Indy restaurants everywhere!
Internet service was substandard.
It's a lovely hotel and I have previously stayed there on business many times. This time I arrived for a leisure visit. When we arrived by taxi the Concierge was immediately there to help us with our baggage. The Concierge was very helpful through out our visit.
I did not think the reception staff were very good. They took ages to allocate us the two rooms we had booked. I also found them slightly patronising. As an intelligent woman I would expect to be treated with some kind of respect when I arrive and not, 'I like your jacket' and then 'Oh you are on holiday with your Mum then?'. I was treating my Mum to a night in London but it was not their business whether I was doing this or not. They picked up on this and were over personal. I did not like it.
Size of room. Very nice staff
There was a ticking noise in the wall or ceiling and in spite of alerting staff it was not fixed.
It's a beautiful classy property with friendly staff.
Tiny room, a window that can't fully shut (letting in noise, fortunately the heating can cope with the gap so the room wasn't cold) and overall just not what i expected given that the price wasn't exactly low, even for central London.
Comfy rooms, good facilities, great location
Very noisy and small room. Bed not suitable for 2 pers.
2 bathrooms and roll top bath
Very busy at breakfast
Lovely old hotel very close to the tube station.
Price of drinks in the bar were expensive.
