The staff is very polite and friendly. I also like the choice for breakfast and its good quality. The location of the hotel is at very good position both to shopping centres, library and museums. |

The room was comfortable, the hotel was conveniently located and the food was very good. Breakfast on Sunday morning was rather disorganised, with long queues for people that did not have breakfast included in the room rate. Not enough staff on duty in the evening for late arrivals. No hot water Saturday evening. |

great breakfast and super friendly staff. nice bathroom in spacious room with great views over russell square. excellent location on picadilly line from heathrow and close to shops, restaurants and sites. no free wi-fi. it is the 21st century, surely free wi-fi should be as common as a shower? |

The rooms were well maintained and the beds in particular were very comfortable. All communal areas of the hotel were superb. |

The hotel is very conveniently located just around the corner from the Russell Square tube station. We upgraded our room and had a nice view and a very large, modern and clean room. |

The friendliness of the staff, the layout and location of the hotel Havign to queue a long time for breakfast whilst there were lots of empty tables that were waiting to be cleared of pots! The service at breakfast was not as good as was expected ie, food kept running out and wasn't replaced for ages, no offer of coffee when you sat down (you had to get up and ask someone) |

Great location in Bloomsbury, next to underground station and convenience shops, and facing the park in Russell Square. Even though I had asked for a quiet room, I was given one with the ventilation system outside my window! I was told that the noise would stop at night, which it did, but not that it'd restart early in the morning! Frankly speaking, I think that room should be given for half price and in any case explain the situation to the client... Concerning the front desk staff, I called in teh evening asking for some paracetamol for a pounding headache and was told to wait. I called reception half an hour later and was told that they are not allowed to give any medicines to clients and that I had spoken to a new staff member who did not know the rules.. and did not bother to find out and call me back.. Overall, a very bad service! |

free room upgrade. Wine and birthday card in room upon arrival, rooms very clean. on check out day, cleaner knocking on the door @ 8.00 a.m. and then again a little later. Very silly as we was checking out and the whole room would need cleaning again |

The location is ideal for central London sightseeing. The rooms are large for London hotels. The shower in our room leaked water all over the bathroom floor because the seal on the door was torn. Even after reporting this to the front desk, nothing was done. On our second day, the water seeped into the sleeping area and got the carpet all wet. |

When we arrived we were offered a room upgrade with immediate access to the room, which was a great start to our weekend. The room was lovely and the bar food was tasty. The road was a bit noisy below. |

The staff were very helpful and friendly. When we arrived we were offered a room upgrade for 300 pounds more, which we were told was worth it. However we decided it was not, and when we went down to change back to our original room, the staff were kind and not at all annoyed. We expected some huffing and eye rolling, especially after living in France! It was hot, stuffy, expensive for outdated and fusty decor, and the breakfast was laughable. Greasy, oily, and a 15 minute wait in a queue for the "continental" breakfast, which was some frozen rolls and juice, it appeared. The bar was expensive- ten pounds for 2 cups of tea, and the atmosphere was a bit depressing to be honest. The room we booked was a double and was miniscule. The bed nearly touched 3 walls, the closet had enough space for maybe 5 shirts, and for nearly 3000 pounds for a two-week stay, we were given a room overlooking the smelly, ugly air conditioning fans- all 50 of them whirring and spinning away below us.There was also a lack of natural light. And no mini bar. Just a bit disappointing for a "4 star". |

This is my second time at the hotel and one of its wonderful features for me is that it is an old fashion hotel with modern ideas, fantastic helpful staff, whilst friendly not over-familiar and wonderfully professional. I will always recommend its location, ambience and services - thank you - my 60th birthday will nevere be forgotten. Kind regards patricia Not a complaint as such but my bathroom ceiling was peeling and in need of re-dec - and although the bathroom had a modesty curtain, the rest of the room only had curtains - netting would have been a bonus. |

Space and courteous staff. The concierge was particularly helpful We would have like more tea bags/coffee saches in the bedroom. And some biscuits! The very busy breakfast was incredibly well organised. |

The only thing I liked about staying at the Hotel Russell was the proximity to the British Museum. I would never stay there again, as the rooms are very musty and feel dirty, the price is too high, there are no quality amenities such as bubble bath or conditioner for your hair, the toilet paper was the cheapest and thinist I have ever used, there is a comforter, with no top sheet. All in all, I felt the room was very dirty. The price did not reflect in the room, which seemed musty and dirty. I felt like my arms were getting dirty sitting in the armchair. Everything was old and dirty. The paint was peeling off the window sills in great hunks, the air conditioner spit out black soot on the bed when I turned it on, there was no conditioner and a very cheap shampoo, very cheap toilet paper, which ran out and I had to phone to get more. |

Location great for sightseeing, shopping etc. All staff very friendly and helpful. Cleanliness and room size both very good. Would stay there again. Breakfast was a little disapointing on the 2nd day, but not so much so that it affected our stay or overall opinion of the hotel |

I found the staff at reception very helpful and when I requested a room change I got it immediately. Both George and Bernard were most helpful, courtous and great with their directions. The location is terrific for shopping, sightseeing etc. I did not like the location of my room. It was over the ventilation area and it made a horrible noise day and night. The only way out was to close the window but then room got very warm. |
