Score from 812 reviews Wonderful
Loved the architecture and the location. Perfect for walking to most places.
We were on the second floor and had a superior room but it was very noisy unfortunately.
We find the staff helpful and the location means that we are able to walk from Euston station, into the west end and to the majority of places that we want to visit.
Wifi was very poor, the hotel was located in a very noisy area
After being put in a room which wasn't very nice, we were offered an alternative which was much nicer
The breakfast too expensive
Comfortable room, excellent location
At 88 I was concerned that in the event of a fire I would have to negotiate six flights of stairs .. Almost impossible!
The noise of the units near the room
Lovely old building with character and atmosphere not soulless like a lot of new build hotels. Staff were very helpful without being overbearing.
24h tesco nearby
Rooms not very soundproof but typical of old buildings in London.
Location next to train station and shopping and tourist places close by.
location was very convenient for my meetings
nothing bad in my experience, but the neighbouring large tourist hotels offer almost the same level of rooms and service at lower price and much better value. The Russell facade seems quite grand, but at the core its pretty utilitarian.
The location is perfect but thats about the only special thing about this place.
I wanted to go all out on a special weekend in London. For the amount of money we spent on the room, I expected a luxurious stay. The room was less than average, small, old without any modern or luxurious elements.
The location, architecture inside and out are superb. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast good.
The chain that runs the restaurant isn't good enough for the quality of hotel and the quality of decoration in our room wasn't quite up to a 4 star hotel. It was worn.
We arrived late evening, went out to eat, returned, retired, awoke refreshed, checked out by key-drop as pre-paid. We couldn't have expected more, and in fact expected less.
The hotel was lovely, staff nice and friendly, beds very comfy would stay there again.i would
terrible noise from the air condition.
The room is in need of maintenance and refurbishment, particularly the single glazed sash windows that let in a draught. Windows were dirty. Wallpaper was peeling off and knobs on furniture were loose. The 'wardrobe' door was difficult to slide open and wardrobe was not deep enough for a hanger to fit.
Situated right next to Russell Square tube station and the British Museum, this is a very comfortable hotel. Check-in was quick and easy and the staff were polite.
Old fashioned windows which don't fasten snugly meant that I could hear a lot of street noise during the night.
Proximity to underground and local restaurants
When booking in, felt slightly second class when the option to upgrade, originally offered by the hotel via email, initially wasn't mentioned then, when promoted, was told I had received a rejection email (i hadn't)
The quality of the room, the breakfast was terrible and very disorganised. It was my third time in this hotel and I could see how the service and the quality are so bad now.
Let the hotel know it was a birthday celebration they left us cake and a card in the room, great location
Checkin took rather along time, building dated, but could be very beautiful needs a good paint.room disappointing also abit dated, bed very uncomfortable
nice staff, big room, very clean, location is a walking distance from the train station, well decorated and established. I will recommended to my friends and when ever I visited London, I will book this hotel. Thanks staff
The decor was amazing. We upgraded to have a view of the park and it was well worth the money to do that. Beautiful, historic hotel. Very friendly staff.
Great location with regards to Euston and tube links...the suite was absolutely stunning and the staff were exceptionally friendly
If I was to picky the hotel could do with a bit of TLC
Designed really nice
The bathroom water hard control
