Bed was very comfortable. The room on the ground floor stank of mildew. This made sleeping very difficult.

Friendly , helpful staff. Convenient location - we did not have our own transport, so the bus stop outside the front door and the easy walk into the town centre were very useful for us. Great breakfast food.

As a solo female traveller aged late sixties, I found Brooks guesthouse a convenient base for my stay in Bath. The female receptionist was welcoming and efficient, and all the staff I dealt with were all totally professional, friendly and helpful and supplied all local maps and knowledge for sightseeing around the city, making my stay all the more enjoyable. The breakfast menu was varied and tasty, as big or small as anyone could require. My room was very clean, well appointed, quiet and secure. I thoroughly recommend the Guesthouse to any solo traveller for convenience, cleanliness and service (10/10). Jan, aged 69, South Australia.

Great location. We booked for 3 nights but upon arrival were informed that due to an error, made by the reception staff, we had accommodation for only 2 nights and that there were no rooms available for the 3rd night. This impacted upon our stay and resulted in not only our plans having to be adjusted but also meant a stressful start to our break.

Wi Fi, reception staff were nice, I thought the entrance was really welcoming. Very loud in the mornings (housekeeping, I think or construction workers) and in general with doors and people in hallways. Also my room seemed like it was especially hectic because I think it was next to a backstreet, alley or something. I felt like I had no choice but to get out of bed early. Room was teeny. No soap which I couldn't believe- as a world traveller, I have never seen that before- anywhere short of a hostel. My bathroom was not cleaned each day which I thought was unusual. Also a bit far removed from the action and I particularly found it difficult to find in the beginning even with a map.

Over the past several weeks we have stayed in many hotels, apartments and Guesthouses, and we can honestly say that this was one of the best places that we have encountered. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast the next morning was made to order (which my fussy kids loved). The beds were extremely comfortable and the room was large, quiet at night and extremely clean. The only downside was that we all wished that we could of stayed here longer.

Great location for Bath City Centre. The Guest House was welcoming and relaxed. Our king size bed room was great but the ensuite bathroom could have been slightly bigger. Great stay overall!

Convenient location.. Friendly Staff.. Breakfast choices were great.. Arrived and checked in... Room was lovely... Spotless... Or so we thought! My husband and I went out for an evening meal... Arrived back late.. So went staright to bed.. To our horror, on waking, we noticed that the bottom sheet of the bed... Was stained quite heavily!! We couldnt wait to shower! It looked like the sheets hadnt been changed! We did tell receptionist on leaving.... She did appologise and said that should never have happened! But as we stayed only the one night... It has put us off returning to Brooks..

Perfect for our one night city break...and we would have happily stayed longer! The room was extremely comfortable & quiet and the ensuite shower room was superb; very clean with excellent quality fittings, all in perfect working order. Breakfast was a cut above the average full English with plenty of choice; personal, friendly service, catering for individual tastes including improvising for fussy kids! Overall, far more enjoyable and exclusive than large chain style hotels. Definitely worthy of it's four stars. Gorgeous duck down pillows & duvets in crisp cotton sheets! I should have asked for hypoallergenic replacements as there were none in the wardrobe but too late by the time I realised. I survived! But next time I'll ask for a fibre pillow!!

“Comfortable clean rooms, peaceful ambience, very customer focussed and competent staff. Breakfast was just as previous visitors have decribed, a good selection to please most people and on a par with upmarket hotels. Car parking although £10 a day for the service is worth it in Bath. Location for city centre walking is excellent.” Michael, Wynyard |
