Welcoming and helpful reception. Asked for quiet room, since hotel is on road from Barnsley to Wakefield and was given nice room at the back, overlooking fields. Very quiet and peaceful. We sampled the Indian curry dinner (last Friday of each month) and it was well cooked, nicely served and at a very reasonable price. We would definitely stay there again. We worried that it might be too far out of Wakefield (3 1/2 miles) for comfortable sightseeing but the journey in and back was quick and easy.

Very friendly and helpful staff (they even put the sky sports on in the lounge very early so that I could watch the Sri Lanka test match) The facilities are more than adequate for the price as was the bar and restaurant food. Perfectly placed for visiting Wakefield, Leeds etc. No negative comments

It was a charming budget hotel in a lovely spot adjacent to Newmillerdam. The breakfasts on offer were great and the staff were very friendly.

The consistency is helpfulness from the staff was great. Me & my boyfriend went for 2 nights for my birthday. We were actually upgraded free of charge which I thought was a fantastic gesture from the hotel. On check-in of the room however, was hugely disappointed as the 4 poster bed in the upgraded room was falling apart. We were then moved to another room of the same standard but this wasn't comfortable, It actually felt quite claustrophobic. The only other altnertative at this stage then was to be downgraded again back to an executive room so this was a disapointment.

We found the staff were courteous and helpful. As we wanted to visit family locally, we did not require any other facilities. The breakfast was excellent value for money. It was served promptly and by pleasant staff. We found the pillows on our double bed very hard and uncomfortable. We have stayed at other hotels locally and never felt such discomfort. It would be an easy situation to correct, considering the rest of the facilities were very pleasant. I am considering bringing our own in the future.

Reception area and bar good, room clean, fairly quiet room, not overlooked, staff good on arrival Whether the walls are thin or the doors very loud we were kept awake all night by other guests banging the doors and shouting. This noise was not from outside the hotel, it was from the corridor. I would suggest gradual door closers on the fire/room doors and maybe the staff should patrol the corridors. Maybe its quieter in the week as we stayed on a Saturday.

The staff were helpful and courteous and I felt at ease travelling alone. The telephone in my room did not work for incoming calls and the wifi did not work in that particular room either.
