The warmth and friendliness of the staff, the generousness of the breakfasts and the exceptionally pleasant outlook from the balcony of our room (looking over the River Bure).

The location & the staff are the only good things about the hotel. The hotel room shower did not work. Very drab fitted furniture. Carvery meal was cold and the breakfast was only average. The hotel seriously needs modernising and refurbishing.

The Bed Very comfortable !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As we needed to sort out our dinner for the evening we wanted to know what the menu was in the restaurant. A member of staff told us the menu in the bar was the same as the restaurant, it was not till some time later we were informed by her that it was different, but by then we had booked a table somewhere else. in the village

Super location, staff exemplary. I would suggest booking the balcony rooms as the views are glorious and the bed extremely comfortable. The hotel is undergoing a refurbishment - which is very much in need as certain areas were run down and a bit shabby.

The room was clean and tidy however it was noisy at night, there was a continuous hum which seemed to be coming from the roof. The room next door's occupant was very noisy, this probably stems from contractors using the hotel, and coming in durin the early hours and having showers View from balcony

Staff and facilities were excellent. However, fixtures and fittings were extremely tired. Bath was chipped and stained. Mildew round bath. No shower or ventilation in bathroom. A little modernisation would go along way as the staff were lovely.

Nice location. Nice bar area with a good atmosphere. Plenty local support. Staff were great. Food was ok, breakfast was more than adequate with help yourself toast etc. Although reportedly in a prime riverside location, the approach by car is a bit offputting, via shop & post sorting office car park. Threats of clamping did not help. The building itself is very, very tired and in need of a complete refurbishment. Signs around the hotel said that refurb was in progress, but there was no evidence whatsoever of any such work. Painted brick corridors upstairs gave an institutional feel, as did the pervading smells of damp and cooking. Damp patches and botched cover ups in the ceilings said it all. A great shame as this is, or could be, a prime site and a great asset to the area and the Broads.

It was a dirty room with a very old fashioned television paint off the skirting mold in the bathroom stains on the chairs the only thing clean about it was the sheets. There was a very pungent smell throughout the hotel. The hotels location and the lack of any competition in the area allow it to charge such outlandish prices for such poor facilities. I would never stay here again unless they rebuilt it.

Unfortunately, apart from having a fabulous location, the Hotel Has nothing to like. It was dirty, mouldy, mildew infested and had plaster falling off the walls. The main hotel reception was smelly and the flooring had collapsed in places. I wouldn't let my dog stay there.

We enjoyed our stay very much, the Hotel is in a very pretty location and the small town offered just enough for a weekend break. The Hotel is well worn and could do with more refurb although the food and hospitality made up for the shortfall in that area. Beds were exceptionally comfortable, room clean and we were well looked after in that respect. If I am in the area again would always keep the hotel in mind. Not much to complain about apart from the tiredness of the decor and furnishings

The fact that it was in the middle of town and ideal for Yarmouuth, Broads and other places. We liked the comfiness of the restaurant and bar, not stuffy like some of the big chains are The hotel is going through a facelift and our room had still to be done, hopefully the T V will be replaced as the channels were very limited and the remote did not work. The shelf above the wash basin was a little dangerous but the bathroom layout will be changed I supppose when the work is done.

Very friendly helpful staff. Good location. Food good and value for money. Breakfast room was cold and dark. Room furnishings dated, only appear to have received a coat of paint in refurb, old analogue TVs in rooms. Public rooms dated and dingy.

Everything was very good, food, breakfast good choice and very well cooked and served hot. Evening meal, good menu to choose from and presented with a smile. The bedroom linen very white and clean. Very good position for exporing the Broads, and with easy reach of many North Norfolk wonderfull coastline. The hire boats right outside the door.Good shopping in the high street (would recommend a visit to Roy`s).All the staff made you feel very welcome.

Good staff, good food, good views of river, comfortable, and in a nice shopping area. A lot more expencive than others in the area, and not quite the same standard in the rooms as others I stayed at in the area that were cheeper.

On our 2nd night stay we upgraded to a refurbished balcony room overlooking the Broads and was lovely with views of the river, swans and ducks. Also the restaurant and bar were very comfortable overlooking the river and plenty of choices on the menu to satisfy everyone including a Carvery everyday. We enjoyed our meal and my husband especially liked that the hotel sold Adnams Broadside Ale (his favourite). Not too impressed with our 1st night accommodation, we stayed in a room overlooking the car park which was basic but clean.

Location: situated on one of the broads it is ideal for boat tours. We were very disappointed with the hotel. We stayed in the luxury balcony suite and hence had high expectations. The room decor was tired with peeling paint, dirty carpets and flat pillows. The entire hotel required rennovation so as to justify the high room rates. Our luxury room was very different from that portrayed on the hotel website portal and reminded us of the 1980's as opposed to modern day. We had to pay for our hotel rooms on the first night of stay which is an unprecedented request. The hotel was locked at 11.15pm and we had to ring for porter assistance.

“From the moment we arrived all the staff were welcoming and charming. The guys on the desk were funny and helpful, giving good info re the town (Norwich). The room was very clean and comfortable. I cannot praise the experience enough, it was a revelation and a fine example in customer service. Next time I need a hotel for a city break Holiday Inn will be the first site I visit.” Kevin, Letchworth Garden City |
