The hotel location is absolutely amazing!

I've had better experience and more comfort in a premier inn! The look of the hotel is very old.

The staff were first rate and the Owners. Very friendly and helpful. The restaurant provided excellent food in the evening and the breakfasts were also of a high standard. The location was superb and the views from the seaward rooms were stunning as we're the views from the terraces and gardens. Lovely walks in the area, with the Coast Path running across the front of the hotel's gardens. A couple of miles walk via the most southerly Polpeor Cafe to the National Trust's Kynance Cove was well worth the effort and we even saw the relatively rare Cornish Chough. A lovely stay in a superb location. We would not hesitate to recommend it.

Nothing - just bear in mind that Lizard Lighthouse operates at night and seaward rooms do catch the regular flash of the beam as it rotates. However the rooms are fitted with black out blinds so the light is minimal and did not disturb us at all.

Staff were really friendly and helpful. Location is fantastic and very romantic. We went for 3 days and the stay was very relaxing. A loads of nature to see and cover while walking.

Food wasn't that great, we ordered a roast for dinner wasn't happy with it at all. Breakfast was free but not the ideal. I think this hotel attracts not many young couple so the atmosphere, Food and everything else were mainly focus on retired or family people.

We liked the freindly staff, nothing was too much trouble. You were made to feel at home from the minute you walked in the door, we had a lovely chat in the bar in the evening with the owners it was so personable. The food in the restaurant was really good. Such a lovely place and people I can't praise it enough! Would love to stay here again!

There wasn't anything we didn't like, the foghorn on the lighthouse started going in the night and into the morning which some people might not like, but I thought it was funny and it was a first for me!

The location is fabulous, the views from the room spectacular. The bed was good. The (young) staff at breakfast were attentive and charming and the breakfast itself was fine.

We were there for a special birthday celebration in the village. The proprietress refused to give us a key for the outer door, insisting we returned before midnight so she could lock up. The terms & conditions brochure in the room promised a key for late access. When we pointed this out, the next morning, she was unrepentant. No keys. A refresher in modern customer service would be useful here, to counteract the complacency of a place trading on its location alone. Apart from the trade description aspect to services apparently but not offered. Also, the bathroom was frankly embarrassing: so, so tiny & no surface to place even a small toilet bag - and this was a junior suite apparently! Very disappointed indeed. Had hoped the service experience would match the utterly fabulous location. Btw, never usually complain about minor service shortcomings - we're all human after all. But this experience was exceptional. PS. Guests are not allowed to use the lift between 11pm & 7am, there's a large notice to say so! Truly, this is the Fawlty Towers of The Lizard.

    Nice location & good food

We didn't like booking.com taking a booking for a twin room when the hotel didn't have any. The hotel sorted it out by upgrading us to a bigger room well done. We will never use booking.com again

The stunning views. The staff were very friendly and obliging. The quirkiness of the hotel with its fantastic collection of memorabilia. The hotel was very comfortable and we felt very relaxed. Lovely gardens. The lift is a bonus for the elderly and disabled. The delicious breakfasts and the variety of same. Excellent wines and beers.

Very limited menu for evening meals, especially if staying for more than two nights and also if you are not a great lover of sea food (it would be better if there was more variety or even a change of menu half-way through the week). For the first two nights, the evening meals were excellent but for one of us, it was downhill from there on with barely luke-warm food and when reheated, came back very dried out and unpleasant and on the last night, the roast pork dinner for one of us had thick slices of fat with virtually no meat making the entire meal, again, unpleasant.

Views breath taking! Owner really nice.

Hotel is old and run down, executive room no bigger than a double bed! Can only have food at lunch time or evening meal, no flexibility! Staff not great! Really not good value for money!
